Yes, abortion is murder.
Women should make the "choice" not to have sex if they aren't prepared to raise a child.
Rape and incest are another story. How many of the 1 million abortions performed per year in the US are due to rape and incest? According to statistics from 2006, 1% of women who had an abortion were forced to have sex. 1 %.

I'm a vegetarian because I believe that murder is murder. Jesus himself stated that we are not to kill any beast. But later some other guy in the bible said it was okay. So we massively slaughter cattle every day and then heartlessly consume them at the dinner table very night. I think if you want to be righteous you cannot pick and choose what you want to focus your attention on.
Abortion is murder. The killing of any thing that is alive is murder. So, a definitive answer to your question would be yes. But, life dawn_renee said. When does life REALLY start? Is it only after the egg and sperm have joined? Or is it even before that? Only God knows.

If you don't know the answer, you certainly cannot call it murder. And you don't know the answer, as no one does. But I do know the answer about who is and who is not a murderer. The pro life movement is clearly and undeniably made up of murderers and liars. First you lie about "knowing that abortion is murder" and then you cause the death of millions of born and loved children. Why do you risk the life of kids when you don't know the status of the fetus any better than anyone else?

I think blonde_mama is right. Murder, is murder, is murder. When a life is destroyed you're a murderer. Any life.
Now, when life begins is debatable. I love the point that dawn_renee made about sperm. Most don't think about this but isn't it true? Sperm are alive. They swim with a goal in mind. To wash them down the shower stall drain is basically murder, right? You've made the decision to end their lives. To release them without the ability to make a baby with an egg. So I agree that when life begins really depends.
Some cultures don't believe in birth control because they believe that preventing a pregnancy from occurring in the first place is basically murderous.
I think life begins when God decides it will.

Life starts the second that its concieved. That child has the potential to be a great person and if you rob them of that you could be killing the one person that could cure cancer, or make a great inventor, or doctor. I might be a little more emotional about this because I lost a baby in december and I felt ill everytime I heard about someone "getting rid" of their baby. According to the law, every women has the choice to kill or not to kill. I chose not to. And I don't judge those who do, I just feel for the little babies that could have been.

I like Dawn Renee's answer. :o) I doubt many men want to think about that! :o) It makes THEM also responsible for LIFE. I once had a debate class that brought up that very thing. One woman said that it's cruel to release sperm that don't have an egg to swim to because you basically know they're going to die. Is that considered murder when you know that your sperm are going to die? :o) The guy who was debating her shut up.
I think that life begins when the spirit enters the body. only God knows when that happens and it's a great source of debate among people.

Yes, abortion is murder. Not to minimize it but... so, is squashing a bug. Or setting up ant, snail or cockroach bait. So is fishing. So is hunting. Any intentional destruction of another's life is murder. Human or not. We're all guilty of it at some point. The bible does not say "Thou shalt not kill only humans" it says "thou shalt not kill" period. That's a pretty high standard that few live up to. It also says "Thou shalt not judge"... again... another standard most fall short of.

When you ask 'when does life start' it depends upon the religion and the person. Some religions believe it's a sin to "spill" a man's "seed" or sperm. Meaning that a man masturbating and then throwing his sperm away on a tissue, or washing it down the drain is murder. Remember... sperm are alive. So, I guess it depends upon how seriously you want to think about the issue.
