why do girls get pissed off when you give them a complement?

i was hanging out with my friend's friends. and i met this girl who was looking absolutely pretty. i went up to her and carried on a conversation and told her that she was pretty and she just walked off all pissed....i didn't say it sexually or anything like that. can somebody please explain this. im so lost.

Not, every girl or woman is like that. I don't know what her problem is. I would have said 'Thank You,' you said nothing disrespectful.

Not all girls get p'd off when they receive a compiliment, the ones that do are probably immature, rude little brats that haven't been taught good manners. When someone gives me a compliment, I smile say thank you and say something nice back to them.
I'm sure what you said was very respectable and kind, she was just being rude and obnoxious. Don't let something like that get you down.
One of these days she's going to look in the mirror and regret being rude to you. Those pretty looks may end up fading away as she becomes older.

Body language, and knowing when it's appropriate. It's probably not her, but more likely your inability to display the proper physical signals, or knowing how to have the correct tone. Girls are very normally very aware of players, so they may be getting that feeling from you. That doesn't mean by any stretch that you are, but you may be giving off that signal.. Take a look at how you dress, and how you carry yourself, and you'll probably have some answers. If not, maybe you just pick the wrong girls.

The ONLY explanation for this behavior is called estrogen! I'm sure that since you complimented her that she got mad because you had never complimented her before. In other words, she looked great the other night, which in her mind meant that she looked bad all the previous times. If it was the first time you had met her, then in her mind you would have met earlier if she would have looked better previously. You lose no matter what you do. That's the game of life.

What words did you use? Your language is pretty strong here. And what you were trying to give her was a "compliment." Maybe you should think about the kind of words you choose as you express yourself. For example, if you told her she was "f*****g cute" or "pisser," I'd walk off in a huff, too.

she probably wasnt pissed off about that. maybe embarrassed but im sure she loved it really. girls always go protective if you pay them a compliment coz theyre unsure of whether you mean it and you make them feel vulnerable but in a good sweeet way. girls love compliments its a big boost for them they just dont know how to act when they come their way hehe

I don't think it had anything to do with you. She was probably already pissed or she probably thought you were joking. Hmm, next time try being more serious about it so the next girl won't get pissed or anything.

Sounds like someone has low self esteem. Some girls can't take a compliment and have other issues you don't want to get involved with. Take this as a sign and keep it moving!!

because then she thinks that all you were thinking about the whole time you were talking to her was about her body. it's a turn-off after you had been talking to a guy and then he just all a sudden says that. when a guy has given me compliments like that though if i knew they were sincere then i didn't ever get pissed off... so maybe it was your Timing.. or perhaps it Was the way you said it and you didn't realize it.

girls dont want to hear that they are pretty, they want to hear that they are "beautiful" and there tired of guys looking at them like they are a fine piece of steak....so lay off the first time you meet a girl and maybe the second time will be better. :)
