I was getting a ride from a friend of mine and he was playing some radio show. I think the guys name was Rush Limbah. He basically said that scientists have a political agenda. He claimed that scientists are secretely plotting to spread atheism and destroy the christian church. I am an engineer. I don't recall ever getting an invitation to any super secret meeting to annihilate the christian religion. I am also not an atheist. Do people actually believe this crap? How does this guy get his own radio talk show???

They do not.
If you knew anything about 'talk radio', you would understand that their whole objective is to take some ridiculous stand so as to get a rise out of the unwary. In this case, the unwary happened to be you.
Rush Limbaugh, is a confirmed inciter of ignorance and fruitless debate. He only exists to drive listener ratings. Nothing more. Nothing less.

Rush Limbah (Is the spelling correct?) is a conservative radio host who thrives on controversy. Much like Bill O'Reilly but not quite as polite. He loves a good argument and is known for his outlandish statements. Whether the powers that be are actually plotting some agenda that uses scientists or not we wouldn't ever know about it. It is done more subtly than having a meeting to annihilate the Christians. All and any plots, agendas, are not so recognizable 'til they are well in place. Your question (again) makes assumptions on ALL Christians. Let's get real here & realize one person does not a religion make.......unless it is Jesus. Answer last question: By baiting people with outlandish statements......it's called ratings.

I don't think so. Hmm.. yeah there will always be people like that. For example, I was taking a class where I learned how scientists and religious people go hand in hand.

I may not be able to explain this completely but I will try my best.

As Christians, well some of us, we believe in a moment of Creation. Well the scientists, most I think, believe in the Big Bang Theory. So in a way the Big Bang was the moment of Creation. Again..I apologize for not being able to explain this better.

Every person should be opened minded and know that not everyone is out to attack them. Sometimes science explains what religion can't. It is up to us what we believe.

Rush Limbaugh was in the right place at the right time under the right circumstances to get his own show. However, he, like many, is using the word "scientists" in a broad way, not necessarily referring to you personally, and I don't think he suggests that they have "super secret meetings," but rather that that they do, indeed, have a goal of disproving all things Biblical. While you personally may not share this goal, many do.

As much as I'm loathe to defend Rush Limbaugh, his statement doesn't necessarily mean he believes that each and every scientist was part of the plot, which would be ridiculous considering how many scientists are Christians.

And next time you talk to one of your fellow scientists, make sure you ask for the secret signal and handshake.

He's making a generalization. Not all scientists/researchers/engineers are like that. A lot are, however. Just look at global warming. It's like a cult or something. A lot of scientists say that if you don't believe humans are causing it you're a heretic.

Science, in general, is no longer about discovery. It's about trying to disprove religion, specifically Christianity. Like that documentary about Jesus's tomb.

Charles Darwin replaced into an exceedingly religious christian. in the previous he chanced on evolution. He even observed in his journals how the team on the Beagle (the deliver he sailed to Gallapagos on) used to make relaxing of him for quoting the bible each and every of the time. Georges Lemaitre replaced into between the main pioneers in the back of the cosmological concept all of us understand right this moment because of the fact the great bang concept. He replaced right into a catholic priest on the time. It replaced into incredibly elementary interior the previous for scientists to be theists. As we study further and extra with regard to the universe nonetheless and comprehend that there is incredibly no longer something ignored there that demands the existence of a "god" or gods to describe that decreases. it extremely isn't any longer that there is not any "room" for the assumption of a god, merely that there is not any want.

I heard that show, that is not what he said. He said that there are many who are using skewed research to get a foothold with their political agenda. The show was about global warming, and how they ignore that scientific evidence that discounts it, and only hold to findings that "prove" it.

I think it is because all sorts of people have 'agendas'.
My husband often says that people will always blame you for what they are most guilty of. I find that to be pretty much on the mark.
