Well, your image is supposed to be modest. Your body is a temple, so you're not supposed to defile it in any way, that means no tatoos or extreme piercings (only ears). They wouldn't force you to cut your hair, I have never heard of that. It looks as if some people have responded who are NOT Mormon and DON'T know what they're talking about. I suggest if you want to know more, email me or speak to the missionaries in your area. I won't misguide or give you inaccurate information.
I am a convert as of last year and it has truly blessed my life. I'm excited to hear you're considering it! I know your life will truly be blessed.
Take care,
Sarah

WHAT!?! You do not have to cut your hair, haha. You can wear your hair any way you please. If you want to become a Mormon you will have to stop smoking, drinking, taking drugs, having pre-marital sex, ect (if you are doing those things) or else you will not be able to be baptized. You will also have to give up drinking coffee and obey the word of wisdom. We also like to put emphasize on dressing modestly, most religions do. In the comfort of my home I wear whatever I want but when I go outside or to church I dress modestly. Daily routine? You will be advised to pray, read scriptures when you can. No one is going to make you do anything you do not want to do.
Are you talking about Mormons aka The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints? LDS? or some other sect like FDLS because I have no idea why your friends would say you would have to cut your hair let alone be FORCED to cut your hair! That is crazy talk!

The "vast bang" concept is barely a "concept" and new proved authentic. in case you have faith interior the concept tell me: the place did the 1st atom come from that split into 2, then 4, then 8,... into the "vast bang" concept,... into each and every of the celebs, moons, and planets,.... into our earth with it is water and air, fish and worms, birds and seed, timber and fruit, vegetation and scents, foxes to camels,... onto us with the skills examine, write, stitch,... and LOVE? the place did that first atom come from? How got here fossils have been found everywhere in the earth of guy's and dinosaur's footprints strolling alongside the places (regularly drying out rivers), from a similar time? they're everywhere in the internet. How come Noah's Ark has been found; it unfrozen for a quick time and found nonetheless because it develop right into a million,000s of years in the past on suited of the utmost mountain interior the earth, in Iran? Measurements are each and every of a similar because of the fact the Bible says! Lies could get suggestions washed into too a lot of human beings, making maximum lazy, uncaring of others, unaware of lifestyles, all followers of the devil. yet all and sundry that isn't brainwashed by the devil will continually have faith in God and that God sent His son Jesus to maintain us. How do you clarify that records have been found from neighboring international locations conforming what the Bible has written in it?

The only time you would have to cut your hair is to serve a full=time mission, or go to BYU.
There is one young man in our ward who sometimes wears his hair in dread locks, and he blesses the sacrament. Another with an earring.
I guess it depends on where you are, as to what pressure you might feel, but no one is forced to do what they don't want to, like cut their hair.

So long as you present a neat and clean appearance the length of your hair is unimportant.
We have with us in the ward I attend an Algonquin/Shoshone Indian who wears a pigtail when coming to Church meetings. In his scouting sessions he often wears his tribal talisman around his neck. Nothing is ever said because we know what is in his heart.
The priesthood leaders, however, are encouraged to be clean-shaven although well-groomed mustaches and beards are seen.

It's not a cult, but you should just stay away from it.
Of all the religions they are the most organized and well run.
living your life like them is not a bad idea, they have good teachings. like don't do drugs they don't practice against birth control, they promote love and understanding (except when it comes to gays and the boyscouts) and are generally nice.
You don't have to do anything to "become" a Mormon accept claim your a Mormon. (they're all sinning too) So you don't have to change your hair or lifestyle. Although when I was 15 I had spiky hair and they denied the ability to pass the sacrament.
You are going to need to invest in some white shirts, ties, holy oil, give 10% of your paycheck to them (tithing), clear out your Sundays all together, start going to church everyday before school, Wednesdays nights you have to go for some meeting, I think Thursdays if your an adult, Mondays are Family home evening, which allows you to work or go to school m-f and the occasional Saturday may be open if they have not planned an activity for that, also they might call you into a roll in the church so look out for "callings" and if your luckily you can leave for 2 years and teach people you don't know about Mormonism possibly in another country (but you have to pay for it, it does not come out of your tithing)
all in all Mormonism, suck. why would you do that to yourself? I didn't have a choice!

I am a Mormon. No, they won't force you to cut your hair. But we Mormons do have standards that we follow. In doing so, we recieve many blessings.
Follow this link to THE STRENGTH OF YOUTH pamphlet. It explains our standards-not just what, but why.

For more information, please visit mormon.org or lds.org, or contact Mormon missionaries.

It depends where you live.
They will most likely ask you to cut your hair. They shouldn't force you to though.
Again, depends where you live. Mormons in one place will act differently in another place. Utah Mormons are the most annoying, usually. They're also the weirdest. Hence why I call them Utards.
Out here in Idaho, we're pretty leniant. I have relatively long hair, though no one cares.
