The navy pays more if you know another languages. You have to do a test in that language and pass.

It's not really that they pay extra, but it can help you get a better rate(that's what the navy calls jobs-other branches call it MOS). I believe, if I remember correctly, they are always looking for folks who are fluent in Japanese, and of course, Arabic, or Farse(not sure I spelled that right). yes there are. i am not sure which ones. but we have a group of people who there job is intel. and in the intel field it branches off into a couple more specific jobs. the one you are looking at is the interperative side. they send people to school to learn different languages. but if you already know one that will work out pretty good for you. but these people get pretty big bonus and extra pays.

Yes. They have linguists who are payed fairly well. Learn any languages you can. They will send you to school to learn languages. Some good ones are Japanese, Arabic, Mandarin

They will send you to the Defense Language Institute in Monterey, CA, which is without a doubt the most effective advanced school in the entire military.

you can get proficiency pay if you score high enough on the DLPT. some languages are more in demand than others.
