Well, Yahoo Answer Team has done a fine job in answering how to cook it properly, how about some simple ways to enjoy it?

* Drizzle extra virgin olive oil, add kosher salt and black pepper, top with julienned fresh basil leaves and freshly grated parmesan or romano cheeses

* Top with pesto - basil leaves, pine nuts, parmesan, garlic and extra virgin olive oil in a blender or food processor.

* Make your own healthy sauce (great way to clean out your pantry and fridge, too) ..... 1 onion, a couple cloves of garlic, sliced black olives, chopped fresh mushrooms, a can of crushed fresh tomatoes, salt, pepper, oregano. Simmer for 10-minutes and pour over pasta and top with grated cheese.

* Cool pasta and top with Italian dressing and lots of fresh veggies - tomatoes, carrots, broccoli, etc. for a fresh, healthy primavera salad.

* Make a quickie stroganoff - fat-free cream of mushroom soup, a dollop of sour cream, mixed with cooked onions, garlic and mushrooms, with ground beef...... pour this over the pasta....... so good!

ENJOY!

Al dente means firm to the tooth. The correct way to cook pasta is al dente. Depending on the pasta type, ziti, linguni, farfella, it could take anywhere from 8 to 12 minutes to reach al dente stage. Check every minute after 8 minutes to get the right texture. Also make sure you put salt in the boiling water before you add the pasta. Afterward best to keep it simple just add garlic in butter, and brown the butter.

I love lemon linguine - it is super simple and always impresses everyone! It's even nicer now that the weather is warming up!
You can use it as a main dish (sometimes I add shrimp to it) or use it as a side to your favorite meat or poultry!!

Lemon Linguine

* 1/2 cup olive oil
* 1/2 cup freshly grated parmesan cheese
* 1/4 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice (1-2 large lemons)
* 1/2 tsp freshly ground black pepper
* 1/4 tsp salt
* 1/2lb linguine
* 1/4 cup fresh basil, chopped
* 2 tsp. freshly grated lemon zest
* a few thin lemon slices for garnish

This will make 2-3 main-size servings or more if using as a side dish.

In a mixing bowl whisk together olive oil, parmesan cheese & lemon juice.

Cook linguine to al dente and drain. Transfer back to pasta pan and toss linguine with lemon sauce, adding in salt, pepper and basil. Stir to coat pasta well, transfer to bowls, garnish with lemon slices and serve.

Sometimes the simplest things really are the best. Just toss freshly cooked pasta it with a little butter, really good Parmesan cheese (go for Parmigiano Reggiano if you can get it), coarsely chopped fresh parsley, and freshly ground pepper to taste. It really needs nothing else, and simple as it is, it's incredibly good.

1 6-oz. can of tomato paste

1 medium red bell pepper, chopped

1 c. broccoli, chopped into florets

2 tbsp. olive oil or vegetable oil

1 tsp. dried oregano

1 tsp. dried basil

1 tsp. cumin

1 tsp. thyme

1/2 lb. spicy Italian sausage (optional)

Directions:

Heat oil over medium-high heat in a pan.
Add garlic and onion and cook until the onion is translucent (more clear than white).
Add peppers and broccoli and sauté for a few minutes.
Add crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, and spices. When mixture is bubbling, reduce heat to simmer and cover. Simmer for at least 60 minutes, stirring occasionally. The longer it simmers, the better it tastes.

~ boil the pasta as usual
~ steam of blanch some broccoli...you can actually cook the broccoli in the pasta water to save washing a different pot
~ in a pan, add about 1/4 cup olive oil and cook a few cloves of garlic minced....i like about 4 cloves....dont let the garlic get brown!!
~ add the broccoli to the oil and garlic mix, add a pinch of salt, some black pepper, and a pinch of red pepper flakes (if you want to add some spice)
~ toss in the pasta

its light and healthy. enjoy!

The simplest one I can think of is pasta al pesto. Just boil the fusilla according to the directions, drain, and toss with purchased pesto. Top it with Parm and pepper if you want. Really easy.
