I think it is an interesting way 2 meet and that's why yours sincerely is presently making efforts at that. It's fun 2 meet thru' a channel that is not the usual. It's fun 2 have a friend u've not met, u wonder & she/he wonderswhat u look like...so much fun..and maybe one day u meet--never seen before but the feeling is that u've known for long...so much fun.

if you mean 'meeting people' as in just socialising through chat rooms and places like this, i dont think it is a bad thing if you are old enough to understand alot of people might not be telling the truth about themselves, and are of all different ages, and locations in the world.

if you meant like meeting people on the net like singles & dating and then face to face, its a bit different and i would be wary. i would not encourage anyone to go out and put themselves out there for that reason. i on the other hand was on msn spaces and met a nice guy, we got to know each other really well and fell in love and we are now still together over a year now =) but this might not happen with everyone, i woudl rather be safe than sorry about trusting people in the internet.

I think if your careful and follow all the safety guidlines
Then its ok,i;ve "met" some realy nice people on the internet
and i think meeting them in person is the next step,of course it depends what your after,i'm in a longterm relationship,so not after sex,but like with my friends, why not hang out together if thats what both partys want,i think the internet brings people together, and that in my oppinion is a good thing.

difficult you need to be care ful because you do not know who you are talking to and you need to be cautious mind you i have had more luck meeting people on the internet than I have other wise. and some people are really nice and friendly i have had one bad experience thats all and a couple but other wise it has worked out well i now have a new boy friend thanks to an internet dating site called girls date for free. so its not all bad just be cautious .

You need to be thick skinned, open minded and have very few expectations. Lots of guys are players on the sites. Obviously there are some really nice guys out there too but a lot of losers!

I met my husband in a chatroom. He's from TN, I live in WI. We started with IM, then cell phoning (10,000 minutes in one month!), then phone plus webcam. We got to know each other very deeply before he came to visit.
The visit went great, and 3 months later he packed up & moved in with me. We married last June!

Every story is NOT as happy as ours, though--there's plenty of folks out there trying to scam you. Be very careful of any net relationship.

Did it once.... and it's our 3 year anniversary in May!

It's a great way to meet like-minded people if you're sensible and use your brain to avoid dangerous folk.
