Make a prayer scedule for daily and weekly prayer. Try praying with a prayerbook or hymnal or scripture of your religious tradition when you get up and when you go to bed. Talk to God (silently or outloud)when you are alone throughout the day. Talk to God about your day, your joys, your troubles and anything that is part of your life.
Start out praying a little at a time and you will dind yourself talking( and listening) to God more and more. When you are in a habit of praying morning and evening ,then you can add alittle at lunchtime and so on.

Well, I think you should pray any chance you get, not only when you are in need of something. You don't need to go to church to pray. Go once a week to church at least. Pray when you wake up and before you sleep every day for as long as you need.

Find an hour each day when you may have quiet time with God, read Scripture, and Meditate on what you've read, Pray during this time, giving God time to touch your thoughts through His WORD.
Be Blessed in Christ Jesus !

Just pray for the things you need and want, everyday.

Hi Michael,

You can pray as often as you like. You can do it in your car, in your house, in the bathroom, anywhere. You don't need to pray a specific amount of time or a specific frequency, but prayer is like getting to know someone: the more you talk to a person, the better you get in touch with each other. The same goes with God.

I encourage you to talk, rant, cry, rejoice, thank, ask forgiveness, and request toward God as much as possible; however, there are some mandatory conditions:

1. We have to make sure that we believe in Jesus Christ as our own personal savior; otherwise, God doesn't hear us.

2. We have to make sure that we have forgiven all people who have sinned against us and made us angry; otherwise, God doesn't hear us.

3. We must pray "in the name of Jesus Christ" because we must recognize Jesus to communicate/pray to God.

4. We must believe that the prayers we give have already been answered and that it is only a matter of time before we reap the benefits. This takes patience. Sometimes it happens in a split second while other times it takes days, weeks, months, or years.

5. We must make sure that we pray only for things to make us better disciples, will help us better spread the Gospel, and will help us glorify God. He only answers prayers that will help carry out His purpose for us in life. Nothing more, nothing less. God will not answer prayers for things that only indulge our earthly desires, wants, and pleasures.

6. In every prayer, we must make sure that we praise God for who He is, ask forgiveness of our sins (remembered and forgotten), thank Him for everything in our lives, ask for what we need (not what we want), and pray for others--especially those in leadership positions and the sick.

I hope this helps. Please have a superb day.

Reggie:)

a complete and utter waste of time.every thing i have achieved in life is through sheer determination and the guts to do it.praying to no one doesn't seem a logically sane thing to do.positive thinking goes a long way.take a course in self confidence.

as much as you need to feel relatively sane.
