Unfortunately, a lot. You are in the most high risk category for insurance companies. You're (presumably) male and under 25. It might help if you have good grades, depending on the company you might get a slight discount for that. There are other factors too, like what kind of cars your parents own, where you live, etc... The agent doesn't make this up, it's set by the company by actuaries.
