we always attend a Memorial day party at a friends house.. everyone we know is always there.. my husband conspired with the party hosts... i was sitting by the pool with a cold beer in my hand talking to a friend about if Mike and I were ever going to get married (we had been dating about 3 years) and I told her that we had talked about it and we were ok if we just lived in sin for the rest of our lives and we were ok if we get married, we just didn't see it as important... when Mike came running out of the play room and jumped into the pool.. he swam over to the side and asked me to bring his beer to him.. well he had the look of up to no good on his face, so i told him to come get it himself, there is no way you are pulling me into the pool with you (I hadn't changed into my suit yet).. so he got out of the pool and came in sat in my lap soaking wet asking me over and over "how much do you love me?" and I kept telling him "a lot if you would just get off me" then all of a sudden, a ring appeared (the ring I had picked out 3 years earlier when a flyer came in the mail.. we had only been dating about 2 weeks and I told him that if he ever proposed that was the ring I wanted) Then he said he loved me very much and couldn't be without me and wanted me to be his wife... so i just kept repeating Oh my God.. I couldn't beleive it was actually happening.. so I finally got the yes out of my mouth.. everyone at the party knew what was going on, but me and the friend i was just talking to about getting married... i looked at her like i can't believe you knew.. but she really didn't.. it was just one of those funny things that happen...

leading up to the party, I had been wanting this coffee maker.. so he calls me one day at work and asks me to choose between the coffee maker and a surprise.. man i was torn.. i really wanted the coffee maker.. well the girls at work finally convinced me to choose the surprise (of course they all knew what the surprise was)

Glad I choose the surprise! Best one I ever got!

We had just got back from the most amazing holiday in Florida and were lying in bed recovering from jet lag and were getting very emotional about the amaing time we had and how we both felt ready for kids etc. My fiance told me being at Disneyworld made him realise how much he was missing out on not having kids (he's 34) and that he had realised it was what was missing from our life. He then told me he loved me and wanted to be with me and only me for the rest of his life. He then asked me to marry him. We went to buy my ring the next day and are now expecting our first baby. Its not roses and candles and big extravigant things that make a proposal, its about the two of u connecting in a way you never have before with anybody else. I couldn't have asked for anything more!

I originally asked him to marry me on the 29th Feb 2000 and he said no!!!

then march 2001 we were going away for the weekend for our anniversary - 4 years together - and he asked if i wanted to stop in town first?

when i asked what for he said "i thought perhaps we could go and get an engagement ring?"

i laughed and told him to stop lying, but he was not.

i agreed but secretly thought i would be one of those girls who are engaged forever and never marry, you know, one ring shows commitment and will shut me up!!

with that said we were married 30th August 2002!!

so although it was not the most romantic proposal it worked and i am happily married now.

my husband proposed to me on the thames bridge 11.30pm it was the later part of summer, underneath an old street light with a boat going past in the back ground.
That was the very first time I was speechless, seeing him get down on one knee for the very first time in thirteen years his face was bright red and he was shaking like a leaf, for a minute I did think he was in some sort of pain and I tried to help him off the ground.

My husband proposed to me on Christmas day a few years ago. We spent the evening at his best mates house drinking champagne and he then proceeded to call me by his ex-girlfriends name!! I threw the ring back and stormed out.
We're now happily married with 4 year old twins and he's never made the same mistake again (at least not to my face!)

Not quite married yet! September 1st this year, but hubby 2b, flew me to Barcelona, for my 30th birthday, we stayed in a five star hotel in the Bari Gothic, in the evening we went to see flamenco dancing, and he proposed on the way back to our hotel in front of the cathedral. We are going back to Barcelona on our honeymoon as part of a cruise!

On Clifton Downs (Bristol) at dusk overlooking the Clifton Gorge with the Suspension Bridge in the distance, he went down on one knee, muttered something which I took to be the big question and then tried to put the ring on the wrong hand!
10/10 for effort though!

Mmmmmm he did no longer propose me actual! I met him in college and he replaced into my senior. He enjoyed me and used to come again to my classification room and easily smile and stare. i in my view enjoyed him too. Later we grew to alter into friends (a minimum of interior the call of). Then after few months I asked him whats happening and we are no longer merely friends. We hesitated because of the fact we the two belong to distinctive faith. Then I cried and reported i want him badly. He reported sure i admire you yet did no longer permit you recognize because of the fact i do no longer decide to smash your loved ones and often is the happiest if i can marry you. Then we declared our love and have been given married after 8 years. Now, married for a 300 and sixty 5 days and 0.5. nonetheless we remember those recommendations and snicker :)
