You are right that alot of people are guilty of lathering themselves with riches and being spoiled when they could be feeding starving children somewhere. But not all Christians are guilty of that. Some "Christians" are just self proclaimed, and some don't do what they are supposed to, but there are alot of Christians who do sell everything they have and live in third world countries telling people about Jesus using all their money to take care of the poor. And God will bless them and reward them accordingly in Heaven. The only way to explain our spoiled lives is that we are greedy and selfish. It is wrong and we should all love everyone, which would mean taking care of each other, but unfortunately, that doesn't happen often. Great question.

Many Christians as well as non Christians including many celebrities are working hard to help the 3rd world countries and others in desperate need on our streets.

There is enough food on the planet for everyone, but it is man's greed which has led to millions of people starving to death each day.

In fact, there is so much need in our world today, and there are many generous people who give and raise funds to those in need. However, unless everyone who is able to help financially continues to be selfish and greedy, then people will continue to starve around the world.

Most churches I know do something to help these kind of situations, and some send regular supplies to places across the world, and even send people themselves to help, but the problem is so wide spread that there are not enough workers.

There is something each of us can do, however small, if only we can ALL recognise that it is our responsibility.

I think most people believe that there is nothing we can do. Even if we gave everything we had away, would it be used where it is most needed? How do we know that the starving people get it at all?

But you are absolutely right about, the excess that we have is unfair. Lots of people blame God because there are people starving in the world, but God isn't to blame. We are.

have you ever feed children that did not have enough to eat?
I have.

have you ever taken care of foster children?

unfortunately we Christians cannot feed all the children, we need everyone's help.
it is not just the Christians that need to give to the needy, it is all of us.
if we would all do a little, we could make a difference.
there are homeless and hungry in every town, and city in the United States, look around, there is someone that needs your help right there next to you.

Those people are starving because of the sins of people four generations ago.
It's man's fault, not the ever present, ever loving, ever caring God's fault.
Their pastor hasn't told them to do anything about it.
Doing something for someone else would require independent thought.
They might get their new jeans dirty if they actually did some charitable work.
What do you know? Read the Bible, it's got everything you need to know for life.
you're picking on us / bashing us just because we're Christians.
Who cares about them, they don't go to my church.

Need any more excuses?

All in all I would say that Christians take reasonable good care of their own & they find time & money to help others.

Bad government is behind most of the starving people in the world.

Have you ever actualy tried to take help to the "starving" in the world...I have... most all are not starving because of food not being available that could be delivered to where it is needed.... they are starving because someone is keeping the food from them... and money and power are the main reasons... there is more food being produced in the world, or that potentialy could be produced, than there are mouths to eat it... it is just getting it to the ones who need it .... and eradicating those who keep the basic needs from those who need....

That is mans fault, not Christ's.
Q. What have YOU done to ease suffering?
Teaching people to be peaceful, and to be responsible with procreation has been what I have done. Giving moeny to those who have no regard for each other or for procreational responsibility, will only exacerbate the problem of world hunger than solve it.
The fact is, that Christians have only been given the guildlines of preaching the good news which when received, empowers believers to help one another. As for those who reject the message, I am not commanded to do anything else for them.
So, in conclusion, no matter how you try to blame world suffering on Christ, it is not our fault. The blame is more accurately placed squarely on those who are greedy, and selfish. The first and foremost responsibility for a Christian is to take care of their own familiy, and other Christians.
Most often, those that are poor in wealthy countries like the US, are poor because they are lazy. The Bible clearly says, if one does not want to work, neither should they eat.
I refuse to comply with commands such as this weak challenge you have posed, as I, and all other informed Christians know the true source behind the question.

God controls everything. He doesn't want to interfere in the human life. EVERYTHING IS A TEST. Those who disregard everything and shop and do nothing with their lives except sin obviously fail the test. Have you ever noticed that your life sometimes takes you to the darkest places? those are tests. Tests for your faith. What you don't realize is that those kids who are supposedly "starving" are used to that. So they don't really consider their life horrible.
