Pslam 23 has always been a source of comfort for people. sometimes, for me, a verse doesn't help. But, reading verses like these help me think about my times of lonliness and about God.
I am curious. What is your lonliness about and what is it telling you? Think through why you are lonely and listen to what the voice of truth is telling you. Within this reflection you will be praying your experience to God and God's truth will come to you. A gut wrenching and deep feeling of lonliness is hard to overcome, sometimes. But, this will pass. Until it does, continue to pray, reflect, read and communicate. go for a walk and/or do something active if you can. Call up a good friend and tell them how you feel. Call up a family member if you haven't talked to anyone in awhile. Don't go through your lonliness alone.
Take care.

instead of one particular verse, I would recommend having a regular time of meeting with God. Read through some program like 1 to 3 pages a day... may it like a short meeting with a friend.
Some ideas would be... reading thru the New Testament 1 chapter a day for a semester, reading proverbs 1 chapter a day for a month, reading five Psalms a day for a month....
reading Isaiah chapter 40 onward (the book of consolation)
perhaps download and listen to a good sermon from another... some good sites include http://www.desiringgod.org and http://www.sermonaudio.com
where you can download and listen at no cost to many great sermons on a large variety of themes. Since a person is giving the sermon you might feel less lonely... perhaps pick one person you like and listen to their sermons regularly? might make you feel less lonely

The verses in the Bible that tells you what you must do to get into God's heaven. You must put your faith and trust in what the Lord Jesus Christ did for you on the cross. He died for your sins, He was buried and took your sins away and He rose again the third day for your justification. 1 Corinthians 15: 3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; 1 Corinthians 15: 4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures: Romans 4: 25 Who was delivered for our offences, and was raised again for our justification.

2 Corinthians 13:13
"So, Faith, Hope and Love, remain these three, but the greatest of these is Love."
This verse tells us that love is most important. In some other verses, the first commandment is "You shall love God with all your heart.." and the second is, "Love your neighbor as you love yourself." You see, Jesus' "new" commandments are all about love. Love is the summary. It is the greatest deed. It is a powerful force.
God made the world in order to share his overflowing love. Love is indeed great.

Do you have an intimate friend in whom you can confide? Such a friend is one who cares about you. You trust him, for he has proved to be loyal. Your joys are heightened when you share them with him. His sympathetic ear lightens the burden of your sorrows. Even when no one else seems to understand you, he does. Similarly, when you draw close to God, you come to have a special Friend who truly values you, deeply cares about you, and fully understands you.
(Psalm 103:14; 1 Peter 5:7)
You trust him with your inmost feelings, for you know that he is loyal to those who are loyal to him.
(Psalm 18:25)

Ecclesiastes 4:9--11
two are better than one, because they have good return for there work; if one falls down, his friend can help pick him back up. But pity the man who falls and has no one to help him up! Also if two lie down together, they will keep warm. But how can one keep warm alone?

Psalm 23
A Psalm of David.
23:1 The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.
23:2 He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.
23:3 He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake.
23:4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.
23:5 Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.
23:6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever.
Read 1 Corinthians 13 1-13, too. I think it will really help!
Have a good life!
