I am an athletic girl that is 5'0, but I weigh 106.....and I'm twelve. My friends tell me it's just mussle, but I don't think I believe them. What if there wrong and I am fat......what is the quickest way to lose weight???

check the government BMI calculator for kids--
it uses your exact age down to the month, weight and height.

85% of kids your age are about that weight.It says you are a normal healthy weight.

You may not be fat but may have a larger frame--maybe your bones are bigger or you have more muscle.

The healthy weight for a 5'0 12 year old girl is between 100 lbs to 115 lbs so don't worry!

um hun, trust me, you are nowhere near being fat. the right weight for a 12 year old girl who is 5'0 is anywhere betweeen 100lbs-115 lbs. And guess what? Your friends are right! Since you say you are really athletic, Most of your weight is muscle. Being really athletic is healthy and you have no reason to be "fat" and fat is when your 200 lbs and your 12 who is 5'0. So don't worry about it k? You are perfectly fine.

Truth is it varies because a lot of things come to count in your weight. Don't care about the numericl value, care about how you look. If you want to lose some wight just exercise..play a sport dance w/e you can do to have fun and sweat.

You are the correct weight. Remember, muscle weighs more than fat so, if you were not active, you should weigh between 95 and 105. You are active, so you should weigh between 100-110.

well i think i have a little too much bellyfat but the rest of me is fine and for a average for me to weigh is 101pounds so i think it might be 100 to 120 pounds is around right.

Average weights have gone out of fashion. The BMI calculator is a far better assessment of the health of any individual.

Your score is 20.7 on the BMI. Normal (or average) is considered between 18.5-24.9.

it sounds to me that your weight is just fine. if you are looking to get a little leaner though, jogging is the best exercise. its a great way to tone your muscles and lose a few pounds at the same time to boost your confidence.
