Jesus Christ, whose past ,present and future position and work is the content of the revelation, communication to John {the author of this book} by an angel. This is to show his servants, genuine believers in EVERY age what must take place between the first and second coming of Christ. REVELATION, translates the Greek word " apokalypsis" unvieling or .....disclosing of reality that previously has not been percieved.

1The revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave him to show his servants what must soon take place. He made it known by sending his angel to his servant John, 2who testifies to everything he saw—that is, the word of God and the testimony of Jesus Christ. NIV

The book of Revelation is a dream? Better to ask why is every curse a repeat of things already accomplished in the Old Testament? God doesn't do anything as it once was.

Jesus said in his own words:
John 5:19 & 20: "Therefore, in answer, Jesus went on to say to them: “Most truly I say to YOU, The Son cannot do a single thing of his own initiative, but only what he beholds the Father doing. For whatever things that One does, these things the Son also does in like manner. 20 For the Father has affection for the Son and shows him all the things he himself does, and he will show him works greater than these, in order that YOU may marvel."

John 5:30: "I cannot do a single thing of my own initiative; just as I hear, I judge; and the judgment that I render is righteous, because I seek, not my own will, but the will of him that sent me."

John 7:28: "Therefore Jesus cried out as he was teaching in the temple and said: “YOU both know me and know where I am from. Also, I have not come of my own initiative, but he that sent me is real, and YOU do not know him."

John 8:28: "Therefore Jesus said: “When once YOU have lifted up the Son of man, then YOU will know that I am [he], and that I do nothing of my own initiative; but just as the Father taught me I speak these things."

John 8: 42-47: "Jesus said to them: “If God were YOUR Father, YOU would love me, for from God I came forth and am here. Neither have I come of my own initiative at all, but that One sent me forth. 43 Why is it YOU do not know what I am speaking? Because YOU cannot listen to my word. 44 YOU are from YOUR father the Devil, and YOU wish to do the desires of YOUR father. That one was a manslayer when he began, and he did not stand fast in the truth, because truth is not in him. When he speaks the lie, he speaks according to his own disposition, because he is a liar and the father of [the lie]. 45 Because I, on the other hand, tell the truth, YOU do not believe me. 46 Who of YOU convicts me of sin? If I speak truth, why is it YOU do not believe me? 47 He that is from God listens to the sayings of God. This is why YOU do not listen, because YOU are not from God.”

Jesus plainly shows people that he is not God, but obeys God perfectly. Jesus is the Son of God. He does not know everything that God knows, but only what God tells him. That is why Revelation 1:1 says what it says!

because God is the head of all things. Jesus gets what info the Father wants him to have...when he wants him to have it.
They are 2 different persons.

Jesus is God clearly, but He is the "hand, action" part of the Trinity. The Father's actions are more of "mind, word" even the 2nd coming of Jesus the Father only knows(if i'm not mistaken) so in my personal oppinion Jesus is God and a part of God but in a very complex way Jesus for some kind of justice must not know in His own personality, know some mysteries unless the Father gives it to Him.

It something like this; Your hand is part of you but unless your mind tells it to move it won't move.

You not reading it correctly the Revelation was given to John to be written down what he saw and in the vision he saw Jesus when he returns and what events happen before he returns.
