My Mom & Dad used to see guests off their drive. I don't think it makes them better than the person who just sees them to the door. Relax Do your own thing!!!

We make sure they get in their car OK. When the car door shuts we close our front door. If they need help with bags or baby seat, then we'll help load the car and wave as they drive off and then go back in the house. Sort of depends on the time of day/night and who it is. Some people we just say goodbye and drive safe and hug and they leave.

For friends, if it's night time, I normally wait until they're in their car. During the day, we say goodbye at the door.

Family, normally go outside and wave until they're gone

Yes, saying your byes and shutting the door is definitely rude. I see them off to the lift and wait till its door closes.

I almost always escort them to the curb as a courtesy, especially older people, ladies, and close friends of all ages and sexes.
If they are in a hurry or the weather is bad, I may only walk them out and hastily return inside. Still on other occasions, I merely see them to the door.
It all depends on the persons and the occasion.
I might add, on very rare occasions I wanted to follow a couple of gits down the drive pelting them with rotten tomatoes and limp celery. These are those who came with mutual friends but turned out to be not nice company.

I don't think it's rude not to wave them off but I must admit I do tend to not shut the door until they've gone, just in case they stop and realise they've forgotten something!

i normally just see them to the door, but it also depends on how good you know them...if their good friends then wave them off, if not then close the door...
or what you can do for friends and non friends it just watch them get into the car..rather than waiting for them to start the car and then close the door..
..many people dont like to be watched as you attempt to get the car started and then drive off...they might want to pick their bum or nose but your watching..haha

Up here it depends on the weather, when it's -45C then sorry, I just see them to the door. In the better weather, then yes I think it's polite to wave them off of your drive.

Depends on how much you like them. If you aren't too keen on them then it's front door only. If it is one of your nearest and dearest relatives then follow them to the end of the drive when they drive off and wave vigorously till they are out of site!
