My fiance and I want to have a wedding on the beach in Savannah, GA. How much does it cost to have a wedding and who do you contact to rent the property or whatever?

Alicia
PS: We want it as simple as possible. :)

depends on WHAT you want - i.e. photos, flowers, etc.
Do you want it at an inn? Like an elopement package?http://www.weddingsbysavannahbeachinn.com/weddings.html

Or just on the beach? here's a "no frills"one for $175

It all depends. Start contacting the individual beaches. Some beaches (mostly California) have a 10,000 dollar permit to allow you to get married on the beach. Many beaches have no such permit. I know I live on the beach and in my county its $55. However, this is both a county and a city right to have permits so you need to contact both jurisdictions.

Look up places in the area if you are looking to rent. We have tons of houses right near my place in North Myrtle Beach, SC. They are usually individual owned, rented through the summer, through a travel agency. Contact the local rental agencies in the particular area you want.

I would seriously consider talking to a wedding planner, since it doesn't seem like you live in Savannah. It helps to make sure all the lil details are covered and has someone who can meet with local vendors on your behalf or you will be spending a lot of trips down there to meet with caterers, bakers, florists, and looking for rentals. You'll need to rent some form of arch or focal point, plus the chairs.

Unless you rent a property that already has a gazebo or something. Many hotels do, just for weddings. There are a lot of choices.

As simple as possible, you could just have parents to witness, hire an officient, and walk down there one afternoon and get married. As long as you have 2 witnesses and someone legally able to perform marriage by the state of Georgia, you are good to go. But that is literally "as simple as possible". That would run you about $100.

So yeah--it all depends on what you want, how many guests, and permits required for that individual beach. Sorry we couldn't be more help. Good luck!

If it is a public beach, there will be no fees
