To tell you the truth, nobody knows exactly where your taxes go. I don't even think the people who construct the budget knows where.

But the fact of the matter is that most of the 6.2 trillion America gets in taxes ever year is already spent to pay interest on all the debt.

Then a bigger portion goes to the military. Then for salaries. Then anything else that requires federal funding.

It's really sad, when you think about it. The US Federal government doesn't require a balanced budget, and that's why we're in all this debt (mostly to ourselves). Plus, we have a President who thinks money is literally just paper.

Once you get the information together, I'd recommend you include a chart of the various categories you wish to show for government expenditures. Instead of a standard bar graph, I'd recommend using pictures of rat holes of varying heights to show how much money goes down each particular rat hole.

If you want information for the US Federal Budget go the the link below.

However - you seem to be asking for information specific to your state, without telling us which state that is. This makes it really hard to help you.

What state are you in? Look up your state's website, and they should have that information there. Don't expect the rest of us to do your homework for you. I got my Master's 2 years ago, and nobody did my assignments for me. You'll appreciate your education more if YOU get it.
