1.) If someone doesn't get their first bf or gf until junior/senior year of high school or early college, would people make fun of that person? Do you know anyone like that and if so did they get made fun of?

2.) Just because you "go out" with someone does that automatically mean you guys are bf and gf? Don't you have to spend some time together to be bf and gf?

1. High schoolers can be really mean and look for any reason to make fun of someone. Having a b/gf later doesn't matter at all. In 5 years from now, no one will remember. What they'll remember is whether you were a nice person or not.

2. The official definition of b/gf is that you have committed to each other -- have you told each other that you only want to be with that person? Take your time and get to know someone before the b/gf title -- your instinct will tell you when you are ready. In some other countries, people commit to marriage before even meeting each other, or seeing each other only once. So, it is possible that you can be b/gf without getting to know each other... but what's the point? Just take time to see if you enjoy each other's company -- do they make you laugh?

1. I don't think they would be made fun of. Some people focus on school first, and then relationships.
2. Doesn't automatically mean that you are boyfriend and girlfriend. You do have to spend some time together. Usually a month is a good indicator.

1.) There is nothing wrong with not having a bf / gf until you graduate college for that matter. Who cares if people are making fun...it is your life and you are doing what is best for you , not them.
2.) No going out with someone does not constitute bf / gf status...a commitment to each other to see each other exclusively makes you bf / gf status.

be cool...

1. That person may get a few chuckles. I'm not saying that reaction is acceptable, but it happens. When people do react be cool, they aren't trying to make fun of you. I think MOST people start dating around that time. Completely normal!

2. No. You are not BF GF until you are exclusive.

Children grow up fast after high school. You don't pick on each other for the stupid little things that don't matter. I didn't have my first real relationship until I was 17 (now I'm married to her) and I didn't get picked on for it.

As far as bf/gf... just ask, are we exclusive? are we a couple? Then there is no gray area if you both agree on it.

no i have seen people that havnt been in a relationship but they didnt let people make fun of them, poepel WILL ALWAYS find sth wrong to talk about and laugh at , dont worry.

agian when you go out with sb you 2 in a relationship should think and decide wether you are firiend or gf, bf, but if you rely on people and care about their words then they might say you are closer than frineds. and you should do wahtever it takes to prove them the opposit.

dont give a damn about what poeple think of you. live your own life and let love lead your way.
good luck

1. Who cares what other people think? If people are making fun of you, they aren't worthy of your time. Find decent people who aren't that shallow to hang out with.

2. To be bf and gf, you both have to agree to that label. Usually that means dicussing if you are dating or not.
