My favorite line is Spyder Wire. I have 30# test on my surf poles, and it is the diameter of 8# test mono. It does not stretch, is abrasion resistant, holds the knots more dependably, and almost invisible in the water. I like the moss green, but it comes in other colors. However, any of the newly marketed brands have similar characteristics so the choice is yours. I just use Spyder Wire because that is what I started with.

As far as line goes, I use Berkley XL for mono and Power Pro for heavier or braided line. Regardless of the line I use there is always a leader section of Berkley Vanish fluorocarbon on everything I use.

Ande has the less stretch out of all the fish lines. If you are fishing bottom with a sinker, use Ande. If you are fishing lures, use Berkely or Stren. Reason those lines have stretch and give lures more action.

I've got 6 lb diameter 20 lb test powerpro on my reel, use it in salt and fresh water... ok... only once in freshwater, but I did catch two decent bass with it.... (pretty good for my first successful freshwater trip, I'd say.) I forget what I bought as leader line.... oh well. I've got a bunch of it.

i use the same brand of line for all my reels.
berkley trilene..............although i am now experimenting with different fishing lines.i have bought some cajun red in 14lb test and am pretty happy with it.
i use flourescent blue on my jig and worm rods because i do fish some night tourneys that i use black lights,it shows up with the light.
for my snagging rods and reels i use 60lb abrasion resistant line.
for my panfish and walleye no bigger than 8lb trilene xt.
like i said earlier i do now have the cajun red on my spinnerbait and crankbait rods,am pretty happy with it.it seems it has very little stretch and little memory

Depends on what type of fish you are going after and where? You have to be a little more specific.
