Islam has become the world's fastest growing religion

It may be surprising to learn that Islam is the fastest-growing religion in the world today, outpacing Christianity, Buddhism, and all other belief systems through a mixture of conversion and natural increase.

However, even more eye opening is the fact that Islam is the fastest-growing religion in North America. With nearly 2,000 mosques (masjids) spread throughout the continent, and populations approaching one million in some urban areas, learning about this often misunderstood faith has become more important than ever.

There is a growing trend of Americans converting, but it's hard to get the exact numbers and to be 100% sure of the numbers.

However, here is an article that you might enjoy reading:

Here in the United States, converts to Islam represent a variety of ethnic and religious backgrounds, and account for close to one third of this nation's 3 million Muslims. The vast majority, some 900,000 persons, are of African-American heritage, while the number of white and Hispanic converts is estimated at 75,000.

It is amazing that Islam is the fastest growing religion in the world. I think this is because even though it is a misunderstood faith, some people take the time to learn about it properly and find that it is really a good and peaceful religion.

I'm not a big fan of organized religions but Christianity has a long running for the most part. I know in my hometown of Philadelphia and even here in NYC, there seems to be a big interest in the Islamic way of living via the Koran. I'm somewhat drawn to the Buddhist way of living. Although I feel there are flaws in all of organized religion, whatever gives you that peace of mind, go with it. As long as you don't hurt or burden anyone else with it, you're okay in my book!

Allahu Akbar.

Converts/Revers have looked beyond the media and learned the realities of Islam. Muslims will keep expanding until only the ignorant will be left with a false or no religion.

In American a persons freedom to choose their religion is protected, along with the freedom to change their mind
fads and trends come and go

I wonder how this compares to people becoming religiously inactive but instead becoming more spiritual.

honestly with the provisions as stated (not comparing to non-religion, or to less cohesive religious views) it doesn't really mean much.

You are wrong my friend...the fastest growing religion is self. Simply calling yourself by a religious title does not mean you follow its doctrines or beliefs. What it all boils down to is that everyone has taken the buffet route and built their own religion to suit self. Sorry but it is the truth. No one follows 100% of the letter of their titled religion.

I have heard that Christianity is the fastest growing religion by Voluntary Conversion. Islam is the fastest growing religion by birth rate.
