-come back in two weeks, said Ghandi after some thought.

Two weeks later, the woman comes back with her child, and Ghandi looks him in the eye and tells him to stop eating candy.

-why didn't you tell him that two weeks ago? asked the lady.

- because two weeks ago, I used to eat candy....

NO
it would be better if when she brought the child back in 2 weeks Ghandi says:

I thought in 2 weeks you would have figured out how to be a parent

This, I believe is a good teaching for "lead by example". It is fundamentally wrong to tell a person to stop doing something that you yourself continue to do.

While I can tell my son cussing is wrong and he'll get punished if he does it, he's not going to believe I think its wrong if I still do it!

It also brings to mind "If you want to see a change in others, you must first make the change in yourself"

Basically "Do you live by the standards you expect others to live by"?

Right, 500 candy companies out of business, 50,000 employees destitute, personal bankruptcies on the rise, major banks collapsing.
All over kid having a bit of candy.
