oppresses women and thier rights . Yes Im talking about the muslim religion . Is it just that they are so scared that they will follow blindly or is it brainwashing ?

perhaps faterid's answer is correct and that is why the men of the Muslim religion over protect them in some cases. Never letting other men see their faces etc. The are trying to protect their most precious asset. Who knows, I just know I couldn't live that way but then again I wasn't raised that way.

Ok USA will be the one to instigate WW3 and no one would benefit as we'd all be dead. Islam does not oppress women. Islam gives women equal status to men and allows women rights that are appropriate to her. Islam gave women the right to vote 1400 years ago and women didn't get the right to vote in the USA until 1920. Women have the right to an education for Muhammad(PBUH*) said it was the duty of every Muslim male and female to seek knowledge and an education from the cradle to the grave. Women have the right to a divorce. Women have the right to inheritance. They keep their last name during marriage out of respect for their family lineage. They can choose their own husband. Any property they had before marriage they keep. A woman has the right to a dowry. A woman can choose or reject a suitor. A woman does not have to work. She doesn't need to contribute to the household income. A woman can work if she wants to and keeps all her money she earned. It can not go to the husband except if she wants it to. He can not take it from her. A woman does not need to get married if she doesn't want to. A woman does not have to pray when she gets her period. A woman doesn't have to fast on her period, when she is pregnant, or when she is breastfeeding the husband's child. The reason women get 1/3 inheritance is because they are provided for by their husbands when they get married. Women are diamonds and gold in Islam and this is what the Qur'an refers to Islam. Women are treated like queens in Islam. Men are told and taught to treat the women in their lives(wives, sisters, daughters, and mothers) with respect and love. It is not brainwashing. Islam is the best religion for women. And Chrisitan women don't follow their own Bible.

I truely believe that is thier beliefs they basically live by the Old Testament. However since our invasion things are changing and the Taliban don't like it especially the opressing of women. From day 1 they are brought up by the laws of the Old Testanment so you could say a possible brain washing. However we believe in separation of church and state they do not. They mix poltics with religion and it becomes a boiling pot ready to explode. We the U.S. go in there and show them are way of life and naturally they like it and the men or extremists reject it. As far as fear they follow blindly either way. The fear of change they fear for their kives if they change either way they loose unless they escape to a non- extreme way of treating women country. What will this war accomplish? Well from the Bush adminastration side they have done what they have what they wanted to remove Sadam from power. The puzzling question is how and when are we going to get our troops out of Iraq? There is so much publicity about Iraq pepole have all but forgotten Afganastan. The war is starting to esculate there and why was it so easy to find Sadam and so difficult to find Osama Bin Laden? Could the Bush administration be such good friends with the BinLadins that he has sent our troups on a wild goose chase? In 9/11 why was the BinLadins jet the only one to depart from the country while multitudes of travlers were stranded in Airports for a week? Back to brain washing I guess you could call it that from day 1 children are carrying Assault weapons. Our troops by the way we were brought up feel bad to shoot a kid or woman carrying a weapon basically it comes down to you or them.

Okay, you have lots of vague statements.
Have you sat and discussed with Muslems which are beliefs from Islam and which are beliefs from specific cultures?
As a Christian, I agree that some of the way of a muslem are strange to me and would feel oppressive.
But, I think the kind of oppression that you are talking about is more cultural and less religious.
Sometimes it is hard to determine which is cultural and which is religious.
And, WWIII, well, that is a totally different topic and I don't think it will be fought between true Christians and true muslims.
THis is because,
a "true Christ follower" will reach for peace
and
what I understand about muslims will do the same.

because of the fact the international would not want a international war 3. permit's all merely pray it on no account happens, or a minimum of throughout our lifetime. because of the fact if a international war 3 have been to happen it may recommend the tip of the international as all of us are conscious of it, or a minimum of lots of the international. Well, as most people anywhere don't always understand, religion causes the biggest arguements no matter what. I won't say religion is bad, people just need to find a way to cooperate and live together while enjoying their own religion. And of course, these people are not capable of doing it.

Why single out Islam? ALL the "Abrahamic" religions are extravagantly patriarchal and misogynistic. Too many "Christian" women forget that they're supposed to shut up in church and submit themselves utterly to their husbands.

Of course, women born into cultures in which these attitudes are the norm usually internalize them and accept them. Most Muslim women in predominantly Muslim countries would deeply resent "liberation" as per Western standards; and even in the West, women in fundie Christian circles often happily acquiesce in their servile, second-class stature. And it's pointless to argue with them! If they like things that way, or think they do, it's no odds to me. Anyway, "Christian" women who believe themselves to be "equal" to men are the real apostates, according to the official stance of the religion as set forth in Scripture.
