Almost never do, but about 1% do if both are strong enough and there's enough communication.

Yes and no. If you guys set aside time to talk every night and try to see each other like 1 or 2 a month than I think it will work out. You jsut need to trust and understand each other. Just make sure that you guys are both on the same page about what you want to the person to do in situations if they go out and stuff like that. Good luck!

The key to a successful long distance relationship would be excellent communication skills between both parties involved, but the long distance between both parties should only be maintained temporarily

My best friend lives in Michigan and her boyfriend (of over a year) lives in St Louis! They are both still VERY happy together. The thing is that they MAKE TIME to see one another, whether he drives to Mi or she drives to St L... or sometimes they meet 1/2 way. They see each other at LEAST once a month and talk on the phone every day. I guess it just depends on the two of you!! Good luck!

Some do, but that is because eventually someone has to move. If that is not possible then after while in most cases it will get old and someone will be tired of being alone for the majority of the time and move on. It's human nature to not want to be alone, you can only fight it for so long. Good luck.

It would depend on the relationship not the distance.

my friend from IL had a smokin' hot gf (this is high school, they were juniors), and the girl moved to Kentucky...they called each other for about 3 months and then they both moved on and got new "friends". So in my opinion/experience, they don't work.

In some cases yes, in others no.
There is no One Answer to this question.
It depends mainly on the people, but other factors too.
