The "Sinner's Prayer" is a Protestant invention - Catholics don't have anything like that.

Did the Jews require a confession of faith (from the infant) before performing a circumscision? Were there any children in the household of Cornelius? Why do first and second century Christian icons depict the baptism of infants? Why did Baptists originally baptize infants? If baptism of infants is wrong, why did God wait over 1500 years to mention that fact?

Ah, what, exactly is the "sinner's prayer?"

As for Baptism (not babtism), children are Baptized as infants. It's up the the parents and godparents to look after the child's spiritual well being.

I have been a Catholic for over 50 years. To my knowledge, no one is forced to pray.

As a Church we don't force people to pray, they pray becasue they choose to do so, to have that intitmate relationship with Jesus Christ, so to pray the sinners prayer, which I believe is "Lord Jesus son of the living God have mercy on me a sinner" is a great prayer asking Jesus to bestow his mercy on us for sinning against him, but of course prayer is not forced upon anyone.

We also do not force them into baptism, a babies mother and father chooses to baptize the baby becasue faith is a part of there life and realize that they too want there children to grow up in the faith.

Not that I know of, went to the catholic church since birth till I was 16 years old.
Got saved out in the world.
They say the Apostle's Creed alot.

It wouldn't work to Force people to say the sinners prayer either. GOD won't go against your Freewill. You have to want to "be Saved" from your Inner most Being (heart, spiritman) BUT First you gotta know that you need to BE SAVED to begin with. Only GOD can unblind you and give you that Chance.

It is obvious that you are totally ignorant of Catholicism, Parents bring their babies willingly for Baptism and the church gladly grants their request.
The sinner`s prayer? don`t all sinners pray ?

are you talking about The Act of Contrition prayer?

O my God,
I am heartily sorry for
having offended Thee,
and I detest all my sins,
because I dread the loss of heaven,
and the pains of hell;
but most of all because
they offend Thee, my God,
Who are all good and
deserving of all my love.
I firmly resolve,
with the help of Thy grace,
to confess my sins,
to do penance,
and to amend my life.
Amen.

or the new version?

"O my God, I am heartily sorry for having offended you, and I detest all my sins, because of Your just punishments, but most of all because they offend You, my God, who are all-good and deserving of all my love. I firmly resolve, with the help of Your grace, to sin no more and to avoid the near occasion of sin."
