Okay, if someone is uninsured and suffers from severe depression, what can they do about it? Medication alone would cost around $100 a month and that's not including the doctor's visit to get another prescription.

I'm asking how they can manage to go to the doctor and get their medications even though they don't make much money.

they can call the human resource center, they have trained Councilors that can either get the meds you need or the resources to get the meds. If you dont know where one is call your dept of public aide. They can get you the information. I know that they base it on your income. Could be free , or a small fee.

there are different programs that a person can qualify if they don't make much money. most of them are federal funded, go figure. but also and ER doc will usually gives them what they want to get them out. And if you pay the ER like five dollars or something, they will bill the rest. so now you got you med and a free visit. while the rest of the country pays for it. if you need some more meds go back the the ER and most likely you will see a different Dr. and again he will give the same thing or go to another ER.

You can go to a public health clinic. There are several pharmaceutical companies that advertise free or low cost meds for low income people. I can't name them but I have seen them advertised on television. Ask around and maybe someone will know which companies do this. Good luck.
