You should attend mass even if your not in God's grace. Because in doing so you can build a spiritual aresenol against the devil in times of future temptation. You just can not receive holy communion. Of course you should seek sacramental confession as soon as possible so that you can have that intimate relationship with Christ in the holy eucharist.

With all we have learned about what has been going on with priest for many many years. I would say anything you do that doesn't involve young boys. Would be a good thing. If missing mass is your sin. Then you are a good person. I always thought religion was there to help you not judge you.

Missing Mass is a mortal sin.

It's really kinda hard to do too - with Mass Saturday evening, Sunday morning, afternoon, and evening. Especially when you're in a "bad spiritual state" (venial sin, u can still take Eucharist) is when you need to go. Mass offers you a chance to give up your weird feeling to God to get better ones ... graces.

Yes you are duty bound to attend Mass unless you are prevented by illness, not to go to Mass for a Catholic on Sunday is deemed a mortal sin, we go to Mass to unite ourselves with Christ as He adores and offers Himself to the Father for us, by not attending Mass you are actually in a worse spiritual state than before.

nooooo not a sin! I think I would try to find out who you really are! about what you feel and believe is right and not what others feel you should do! let that all go and start over!
you might be surprised how uplifting that can be! you might find out that a walk around the lake with your dog on a Sunday morning is more uplifting and spiritual then a church sermon!

It is OK to go to mass. Communion is out if you are not in a good state...

Paul said that going to communion with sins on your heart actually caused sickness and death in the early church....

Yes, you should still attend. In fact, this is when you need to go the most - to resist the spiritual desolation. It's terribly hard,I know, but you need to do it anyway.

Peace to you.
