You know I got a chuckle from this. The men in my family, (dad, brother, uncles, cousins) all have this thing for Dodge! I don't know how it started but I find it funny. And yeah, I think that they do think they are King of the road. Can't figure out the fascination.

Maybe you're right! But, consider this, us Dodge Truck owners seldom have to do repairs on our trucks. Most Chevy drivers that I know, are always working on their trucks to fix something or improve it. While many Dodge owners can buy it like we want it from the dealer. Many Ford drivers complain of the lackluster ride quality of their trucks and that the fuel mileage stinks. My Quad Cab Dakota averages 19 miles per gallon with the V8 and it rides better than most cars. But then again, Toyota, Nissan, and Honda now offer trucks that compare with the Dodge offerings. Or maybe it is for this reason; I just traded last November, my 1994 Dakota Club Cab V6 5 speed for a 2001 Dakota Quad Cab V8 Automatic. The 1994 had over 270,000 miles on it and without any major repair work done to it. It was averaging between 19 and 24.5 mpg. So, do I think that I could be a 'King' of the road, well I think that is a YES!

I own 2 1960 Dodge D100's, a '93 Ford F-150, '97 Explorer and a '91 GMC Suburban. I drive an average of 40k miles per year, mostly throughout the midwest, and mostly in my Explorer. Neither my attitude nor my demeanor changes from truck to truck. To answer your question, the most inconsiderate drivers IMO, are Ford drivers.
to Markisme007: Not everyone has the luxury of driving a 'fuel saver'. Generally, when one buys/drives a large truck, it's due to necessity. I travel constantly - I have different sizes of vehicles for different jobs. I carry no less than about 600 pounds of tools and enough clothes to go a month without going to the laundry. If I'm going to a large project, then I have to pull a 16' trailer along with me. My Suburban, a 3/4 ton with a 454 gets about 6 mpg pulling the trailer loaded with 5 tons of material - do I like it? No. Is it necessary? yes.

dodge, ford and Chevy all have that rep. it must be a cowboy gene that i do not have. i have owned a dodge 3500 with a 440 and yes it had balls but any import would smoke it after 200 feet. i like my Toyota better and i can park anywhere there is a spot even when a truck takes up half of it. the last time i parked next to a big truck (Dodge puke up) they backed out and took out my drivers door. not so king if you have to fork out $600 just to be cool. (i was just about to open the door too ) his hood was higher than my stock corollas roof. and he had no ins. because his truck payment was to high. so i told him to fork over the money or i take his license.
and his truck was not drivable (tire pushed into fender well and broke his hub clean off ) And my toy only had a caved in door. after him buying my door it was not noticeable at all.

I'm a Ford guy,myself..lol.
However,I love the older truck's, from the 70's back.
I hate the new pickup's, and know what you mean, about
the big Dodge trucks acting like dinosours, and
driving where ever they please, and never mind the small
car's around them.
Truth be known, I don't understand why the American
auto manufacturers don't do like the forigners, and start
designing small/fuel "efficient" truck's, because
gas prices will only go up in price.
So, if anyone own's a large truck, quess they have money
to burn/waste.
I'd much rather have a small-fuel-efficient truck, so
I can go anywhere around the U.S.A., I want, & still save
money,because of the fuel efficiency.
Plus,I have the bed of the truck, to put a topper on, and
throw a matteress in, a cooler, a gas camp stove, then
I'm set to go anywhere on the weekend/vacation.
Try going to another few states, in a big monstrous truck,
to go camping , and you'll find your wallet empty,
or your credit card maxxed out, in no time, just on gas,
& oil, and upkeep.

Dodge vehicles work equally well off-road or on the road. Fords and Chevys have to denote the ones that work off-road. Actually the Sport models I have seen appear too low for off-road use. In fact they don't look like 4x4s. Look for the "Heavy Duty" badge on the tailgate.

I own a dakota and I dont feel like I am king of the road. its more liek the ricers in those lil hondas and toyo. that think they are the cats meow. what happends when a small dog tries to challenge a big dog. the big dog shows its muscle and put the small dog in its place. same with large trucks have to do with these lil ricers. we just put them in their place and remind them their car is for fuel economy.
to single out dodge truck owners is dumb as I seen more ford owners act like that than dodge. also I see more ram cummins diesel trucks on the road still than ford and chevy both combine with their diesel.
also thaks for showing how much of a child you really are by your comments. you must own a civic with a fart can on the exhaust and that huge wing on the back that does nothing as its FWD and lets not forget all those stickers that make you thing it gives you 100 extra horse power. why dotn you grow up and get a life.

chevy - ok, i can handle them
ford - hope they go out of business, or file bankrupcy "personally"
Dodge- Kick *** "move out of my way, i aint freaking scared". i got 245+ hp and 335 foot lbs of torque waiting to move you out of the way if necessary. We got Mopar Genuine parts and we arent afraid to show it.
We are the Kings of The Road. We got the hp, we got the style, we got the torque, unlike the Competitors, and Once again we got Mopar and They Don't (Automaticly sets us apart from the competitors.
Hahahahah Mopar Rules,
Dodge -"Grab Life By The Horns" - sweet slogan
Ford-"Built Ford Tough" tough as what? "a limp noodle"
Chevy -"Like a Rock" they are very solid trucks, but i still prefer dodge, no offense to you chevy drivers.
I absolutely love your novas, chevelles, chevettes and other muscle cars you guys have produced.
