Your question reeks of being absolutely ludicrous! You are obviously confusing Mormonism with another religion. It is certainly not an LDS belief to run from saying the Pledge of Allegiance!
Mormons are among the most patriotic people America has and this is being answered by an Elder in the Church and one that is Retired Army Airborne.
Get your facts straight before spreading such garbage.

She's wrong, that as a Mormon, it's agianst her religion to say the pledge of allegience. It's the Jehovah's Witnesses who don't say the pledge. She's either JW, or trying to get out of saying the pledge.

I believe you're confusing Mormons with the Jehovah's Witnesses. My understanding is Jehovah's Witnesses at least at one time didn't feel it appropriate to recite the Pledge, although I can't seem to find anything concerning the Pledge on their official web site.
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (Mormons) doesn't teach anything concerning the Pledge of Allegiance. The Church does teach that we should respect the law and that the U. S. Constitution is an inspired document. My understanding is there is no conflict between reciting the Pledge and the teachings of the Church.

Are you sure this girl's Mormon??
I was raised LDS (aka Mormon), and when I was about to enter kindergarten, my mom told me that we would pledge allegiance to the flag. She helped me learn it.
I once saw Red Skelton's presentation of the Pledge. He went through it one word at a time, expressing what that word meant. It was pretty moving... btw- does anyone know where I can find a video copy or at least a script? I'd love to find a for-sale copy...

Mormons DO say the plege of allegiance. I think your mixing us up with Jehovah Witnesses. My mom's a J.W. and they refuse to plege allegiance to the flag bc they believe it's worshiping the flag instead of God or something like that. Mormons have never had an issue with supporting their country, A LOT of troops out right now are LDS.

I'm not sure what this girl is talking about. I've been LDS (Mormon) all my life and I've never refused to say the Pledge of Allegiance. I haven't even known any fellow members to do this.
I'm just as American as anyone else! I love this country, and I'm not afraid to show it.

I don't know if your friend was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints aka Mormon but it is not against our religion to say the Pledge of Allegiance. I have never heard of such a thing. Either your friend is a member of another church or "mormon" church or she is misinformed.
