Why do many Americans believe that if it's not occuring on Fox News then it doesn't happen at all??
FLORIDA -- It's true. Many Muslims do condemn terrorism - we just don't hear about it in the American news media.
Yet Americans continue to ask: "Why don't Muslims condemn terrorism?

This page focuses on condemnations of the 9/11 terrorist attacks. It is not a complete listing of all condemnations written or spoken by Muslims but is intended to provide a representative sample.

You just can't please some people.
First, they want Muslims to condemn terrorism.
Then when we do then it's not enough.
I'm giving up on people who think that 1.2 billion people are terrorists. I'm giving up!!

I recently ran across this and wondered why it never made any headlines...
http://edition.cnn.com/2007/WORLD/asiapcf/04/16/pakistan.rally.ap/index.html
MASS RALLY IN PAKISTAN AGAINST RADICAL MOSQUE
POSTED: 0649 GMT (1449 HKT), April 16, 2007
KARACHI, Pakistan (AP) -- About 100,000 people rallied in Pakistan's largest city against an Islamic mosque and seminary that launched a Taliban-style anti-vice campaign in the country's capital last week.
The mass protest in Karachi on Sunday was organized by the Mutahida Qami Movement, or MQM, a party based in the southern port city that strongly supports President Gen. Pervez Musharraf, who has promoted moderate Islam.
"Islam is a religion of peace and there is no place in it for using force or terrorism," said MQM leader Altaf Hussain, who addressed the rally on loudspeakers by telephone from London.
The Lal Masjid, or Red Mosque, in the capital Islamabad announced last week the setting up of a court to deliver justice based on Sharia, or Islamic law. Students from an Islamic school attached to the mosque have started an anti-vice campaign in Islamabad, threatening proprietors of music shops and brothels in the relatively liberal Pakistani capital.
The mosque's chief cleric, Maulana Abdul Aziz, is an outspoken critic of Pakistan's support of the U.S.-led war on terror. His thousands of male students are often at the forefront of anti-government and anti-U.S. rallies in Islamabad.
"We will strongly resist religious terrorism and religious extremism. We will resist their intentions with cooperation of the people," Hussain said.
A Karachi police official, Mazhar Hussain, said about 100,000 people attended the rally, with many protesters chanting, "No to extremism."
The Red Mosque, located in downtown Islamabad, is suspected of links in the past with militants, including the Taliban militia, which banned music, movies and nearly all forms of entertainment during its rule over neighboring Afghanistan under its strict interpretation of Islam.
A U.S.-led military campaign ousted the Taliban from power in late 2001 for harboring al-Qaeda after the September 11 attacks.

That is a good start. Muslims hijack four airplanes in America, crash them, killing thousands of people, and now there are four Islamic website that condemn the action.
Now I am not a Conservative Republican, I do not watch Fox News because they spin everything to the Right, and I do agree with our current Administration that the only way to stop terrorism is to kill all the terrorists. Killing terrorists just creates more terrorists. It's like our failed war on drugs. Neither solution actually addresses the underlying problem.
But I will take issue with you and say that the Muslim community worldwide, has not done nearly enough to combat terrorist. Muslims continuously say that only a fraction of a percent of all Muslims are terrorists. But that figure cannot possibly be true. The terrorists have an entire network of support within the Muslim community. Virtually every Mosque in the United Kingdom preaches violence against the west. Death to America is a rallying cry that is heard every Friday in every Muslim country in the world.
Your website condemnation does nothing. You need to stop supporting the network of terror. Remove the imams that preach hate. Expel the radical thinkers. Work together to solve the problem. Because it's not going away. And soon we'll all be dead. Rotting in the ground. Because there is no God. There is no Allah. Jesus never existed. And Muhammad was a charlatan.

I never see editorials in the newspapers by leading Muslims ridiculing the seventy-two virgins idea. Sure, you can dig out condemnations in articles viewed by very few. How about coming out in the large newspapers with condenmations that can't be misunderstood ? Articled by leading Muslims.
The articles should come out immediately after the atrosities. The articles should cover the whole front page. Ayetollah whoever says it's a lie that murderers will be given virgins in paradise.
Where are the Ayetollahs and Imams when bombings take place. To be effective, the condemnations should be immediate and very visible.

the only non-violent muslim are ther muslims that don't follow the Quran. we have Christians that call themselves christians but they don't follow the Bible either. only difference is Christians is a organism of the love of righteousness. islam is all about worldly power. Proof: when was the last time muslims sat there in a row waiting to be killed and just happily praying to God? Christians do that all the time.

Because it is easier to have catchphrases that repeat easily than to really investigate the complex relationship between religious fundamentalism, terrorism, and the Middle East. Most of the Muslims in the world live outside the Middle East, but it's easier to focus on Islam at its point of origin, I guess... It's easier to say glib things like "they are living in the middle-ages" than to concede that the situation is very much a 21st century one (modern terrorists utilize the internet, the ability to travel easily, and, of course, modern day weaponry)... it's easier to say "they hate freedom" than to examine the cultural differences that have caused so many misunderstandings and tragedies... I guess, finally, it is easier to point a finger and hate than to take responsibility for one's own mistakes. If people educated themselves more in an objective, honest way we would be a lot closer to not only understanding the enemy (which is key to defeating the enemy) but we would also know who ISN'T our enemy...
but a 30 second clip on Fox news or CNN isn't really conducive to that sort of thing.

CAIR??!!
You gotta be kidding me. You Muslims raise a hissy fit if anyone pastes a link to Muslim violence from Fox news, but you guys want us to consider anything from CAIR?
*For those who don't know: http://www.cair-net.org/
*Wash it down with this: http://www.anti-cair-net.org/
Like I said, when Musilm leaders get on C-SPAN and face the UN with a formal proclamation denouncing terror televised worldwide, I *may* see the gestures as genuine. Recall, here was the Muslims latest stunt at the UN, was trying to get even the *criticizing* of Islam to be a crime. What a gas.
What does a fatwa do? It's impact seems just as great as a baby pushing a 1 ton cart uphill.
I don't think anyone will forget this image after September 11th, the Palestinian Muslims celebrating in the streets.
