I hear alot of people talking negativley about Muslims and the fact that they find a woman on her period unclean even to the touch. I wonder if Christians are aware that according to their holy book, "the Bible," not only is she uncelan during here period but on the eight day she must bring two young doves to a priest to be sacrificed. Leviticus 12:2 and 15:19-30 talk more about this subject.

Is it becuase Muslims actually obey their holy doctrine that some of you Christians are angry at them?

The bible also teaches how women should be submissive (1 Tim 2:11), you should not to eat pork (Lev. 11:7) and that women should cover themselves (1 cor. 11:5). So why make all the fuss about it when Muslims believe this and not Christians?

You know that'd be a hell of a lot of doves. Lets see - 2 doves every month from you're about 14 till you're about 55

So thats nearly 1000 doves in the life of each female and I couldnt even count how many billions of females there have been.

Doves would be extinct!

Also you're not supposed to work as everything you touch is unclean and then everyone who touches what you touch is also unclean. So you really should stay in your room for the week.

I wonder if my boss would buy that......

First I believe it was written that women are 'unclean' because the sheding of blood was part of preparing for the conception of life! It was considered a 'holy' incident and was not to be messed with by anyone.

I also think the 'women are unclean during thier period' is a ploy. We now know that a few days after a woman's period is when she is most likely able to conceive. I think if men were told not to have sex with their wives during their period, then they would be ready to jump them as soon as it was over... and repeatedly... thus, there was more chance that there would be conception and growth of a people.

As for the other questions you have, some Muslims, just as some Christians, take certain parts of scripture out of context with everything else, some don't look at what is said as an 'example' and 'guideline', but will go to the extreme about it. Such as 'women should cover themselves'. Tell me what does that mean to you? Covered how? How much covered? Just certain private parts? It can also mean something less visual and more spiritual, such as women should cover themselves by choosing to receive the holy spirit and living as the holy spirit guides you... being 'covered' by the holy spirit.

Same with where Jesus teaches the disciples to pray and thus the first prayer, the Our Father, comes into being. In my opinion he didn't mean to recite the same exact words over and over and over. He gave us an EXAMPLE of how to pray. Why would he want us to keep praying the same words over and over with no thought to what we are really saying, but rather done as a rote process? It means more if it is a personal prayer more specific to your life in relation to God.

So much of the Bible is left up to people's interpretations of what it says and what it truly means.

It's not like all of us women have our period on the same schedule. You would have to go everyday with the thought in your head that you cannot touch ANY woman. Chances are you have probably touched more women during their period than you will ever know. If you want all women to be like this you should move to a country where it is forbidden to show themselves and all the other crap you wrote and then consider yourself blessed if any woman wants to touch YOU! Get a grip.

Deek, I think the answer to your question is that the whole "period" thing was brought up in a question for Muslims. Why would people quote the Old Testament just to show how absurd Islam is.

As soon as someone asks a question for Christians about "periods" I will make fun of them too, using their own Holy Book. All in due time....

hello
i also hope that the fuss stops soon

muslim women on their periods are unclean till there period is finished. so women on there periods cannot pray

but once there 7 day (estimate ) period is over they can pray again and do everything else but they are surely do not get sacrificed after there period

and also if you ever look at a picture or painting of Mary her head is covered and also christian nuns cover themselves

god bless you !!

we are not under the old law but it is unhealthy for the woman to have sex during her flow. We do not offer animal sacrifice any more either since Christ gave his blood and flesh as a sacrifice once for all time.
The bible talks of a simple head covering and not for her husband but for the angels. And she is to have a well arranged dress with modesty not walk around in a tent. Jesus wore the garb of the day..he expects us to do the same..it is the message that is important not what we wear as long as we are covered modestly..
Yes a woman is to have deep respect for her husband and be submissive to him.
You are using the bible to prove your points...So you are saying that the Bible is the word of God and has the final say.
Since we are no longer under the old law it is permissible to eat pork.

They just made it up the way they decided for it to be back then. So the truth is about the purpose god gave woman for her period, not if she should be touched or not. If enough of society agrees on the way it should be, then that sets the foundation of the way most believe, but it all just being made up.

I guess it depends on how literally we take the word of scripture. I think some of the content of it is based on how people lived thousands of years ago.

Maybe some extremist Muslims take everything literally and want the world to go back to how people lived thousands of years ago.

We've made advances in our understanding of human health since then and also in equality of women.

unclean??? UNCLEAN??? please never, EVER say what you've written to an over-emotional, paranoid woman/girl on her period. i mean, on top of the pain, the blood, the constand paranoia to make sure you change as not to get smelly and/or leak, and then have someone say to you, "oooh, i can't touch you because my bible says that you're unclean" i mean, seriously...
