“The legislation calls for every gun in Pennsylvania to be registered with the state, and each registration must be renewed annually. The registration would cost the gun owner $10 per gun each year. The bill also calls for each gun owner to be fingerprinted, have a back ground check, and to submit pass port-style photos for registration cards. The registration card for each gun would then have to be carried with that gun at all times. Any gun that registration is denied for would then be confiscated by the state police.”

Unfortunately many politicians believe that this will reduce crime. Here is a quote from a Vermont State Senator

"We must be able to arrest people before they commit crimes. By registering guns and knowing who has them we can do that. ...If they have guns they are pretty likely to commit a crime."
-Vermont State Senator Mary Ann Carlson

They only thing I can say about that is wow.

If this is true, it is absolutely ridiculous.. The only advantage to that bill is it raises more $$$ for the State.. It is absolute nonsense.. I don't know how they would ever in Gods world enforce it... Do you?? I am positive we don't need the Government or an Amendment to the Constitution or Bill to realize that all Citizens who have them for Defense, Hunting, Target Shooting, Plinking, Survival, Collecting etc.. shall have them without the approval needed from Anyone, Anyplace, Anytime.. Sport, Recreation and Survival are all thats needed to take int consideration.. Basically its a matter of free choice as to whether or not to possess and own them with or without the 2nd Amendment.. The Government or no other human being or law should not even be considered before one can own and use them.. As far as I am concerned God gave us free will to choose and thats good enough for me..

This Bill is an other Tax on Right of the People .

That certainly sounds very much like the situation we face here in Canada. Just for the record it has not worked out well here at all and the cost has gone way out of control. The govt has spent over two billion dollars and crime has not been reduced AT ALL. Sport hunters are not going to rob a convience store with their deer rifle nor rob a bank with their skeet or duck guns.

This bill is in committee. I bet it will not see the light of day in its current form. PA has been pretty open to gun ownership. They do not have any restrictions like Cali, or Jersey. Wait and see, this will never pass. If you want to do something though, call your local rep and voice your opinion.

wow, i live in Illinois, and i thought i had some strict gun laws! We have to Register every five years to get the gun liscence, but its for every gun we own, not just a liscence per gun, that would suck. Do they not realize murderers and bank robbers dont go to the local cabelas and buy guns! they get them off the street for dirt cheap. That is a little ridiculous i think.

It is socialism, unconstitutional, and violation of law abiding citizens' rights to keep and bear arms. Go to www.nra.org and you can contact your local congressman to vote against House Bill 760. The NRA site will easily enable you to email your congressman and make your voice heard. Just say "no" to government bureacracy.
