I mean think about it. We take antibiotics when we're REALLY sick right? In some cases we take antibiotics to save our lives. But doesn't this count as cheating god? He wouldn't have made you deathly ill just for the heck of it, right? It's a part of his master plan. So when you take antibiotics doesn't that interfere with his plan and thus you are cheating? Please explain this to me, I'm very confused.

What's the point of giving us disease and then scientists? Wouldn't he make everybody's life easier by just leaving out lung infections?

Nobody's addressing the issue of why god makes us sick in the first place. He is in control of everything. And I seriously doubt diseases count as free will.

To Vox Populi: Master Plan is what they taught me in Sunday school. Take it up with the pastor if you have a problem with it.

Presuming god invented antibiotics as a part of the plan to further our lives, then why did he only do so after thousands of years? Why did he feel the need to create this after thousands of years' worth of deaths that could have been prevented sooner.

Of course not. All things were created by God, even germs, bacteries and virus. It is God also who gave understanding to doctors and scientists to make medecines. No human being can know or understand beyond what God permits. Any human effort to save a life can only be from God. God is God of Life and we do not know why he lets us get sick ( His toughts are higher than ours) but if there is a medical solution I am sure God was the One who let it be there for us, so just take it, but be assured that : Doctors may treat you but only God can heal you.

Not at all. Actually, health and healing is God's will for us. Sickness is the plan of- well- the other guy, if you catch my drift. Either that, or, it's just part of human life, which is not perfect. Following your thought to it's logical end, if taking medicine is a sin ,then , so is asking God for healing. So, would immunization of our children. Get the picture?
I don't know what your religious background is, but, I encourage you to take the time and find out what God's will is for us regarding healing.

In the Bible there are many references to Essential Oils and herbal medicine. Especially Frankincense (a gift to Baby Jesus from the 3 Wise Men) Frankincense is very powerful and has been used to treat many illnesses. It is also used in excorcisms.

Antibiotics are synthetic. Over time synthetic drugs do more harm than good.

I don't think you are 'Cheating God". There are medicines to improve your quality of life. There are medicines that destroy your qualiy of life. Maybe suffering is part of the 'Master Plan"?

First off - I don't think of God as a "He" - that just lends itself to "humanizing" It. God is a Power. It's the Power of all good things. Love - Peace - Compassion - Creativity - etc.

So - somebody - (or several somebodies) created the drug that will help us get better. There is nothing wrong with using the results that came about because people decided to use their God-given brains to help people enjoy better health. It's not any different than using a spoon to stir soup. It's a tool!

If you look at it as all good - and all as a great plan from God - then that's what it will be for you!

Namaste!

God does not make us deathly ill.
The fact that we get sick at all is a result of Adamic sin. In the future, when God's Kingdom is in place on the earth, he will not allow illness to plague mankind ever again.

Revelation 21:1 And I saw a new heaven and a new earth; for the former heaven and the former earth had passed away, and the sea is no more. 2 I saw also the holy city, New Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God and prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. 3 With that I heard a loud voice from the throne say: “Look! The tent of God is with mankind, and he will reside with them, and they will be his peoples. And God himself will be with them. 4 And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away.”

I believe in God with every fiber of my being.
God said in the Bible... " is it not he that is sick who needs the physician".
I see nothing wrong with using a doctor or medicine. If Gods tells me not to use antibiotics-then and only then will I stop. The Bible also says..."My sheep know Me, and they hear My voice".
Your flawed logic has no affect on me.

no it isn't cheating anyone

Do you think the good Lord gave these scientists and Dr's the gift of healing if he had other plans for you?

let me tell you this.... if the antibiotic, or the cancer treatment doesn't work.... it is because he has a plan for you.... but by refusing to take the the advice of a Dr and not doing as prescribed... you take away from God's plan for you... you cheat yourself ... not him

I see what you are saying, BUT, God plans everything, meaning that he made those scientist who invented anti-biotics, which would save many people.
So you are not cheating death, but just liveing the way God wanted you to.

Possibly it is cheating, but It is you choice. People do not have to, or should not take any medication then, it is totally up to them.
As well, it is not only antibiotics then, plain Advil, Asperin, cough syrup or sour throat suckers would also be considered cheating. Too many people consider their life most important to think about cheating God.
