"I find it ironic that the flags were flown at half-staff for the young men and women who were killed at VT, yet it is never lowered for the death in Iraq, for of a U.S. service member," Sgt. Jim Wilt wrote, on April 23.

They both are bad. I think this Iraq thing is bitting us in the AZZ, I was not to crazy about it to begin with, I thought that attacking Iran would have been a better choice, or North Korea. That crazy SOB Saddam was evil no doubt about it but i think he was probably one of the few that could keep that country together. Maybe our mistake was that we thought the Iraq people were ready for liberation when in fact they are not. Some brutalized people are just not ready for democratic change they have been acustomed to nothing but violence, choas(as the case In Somalia), and authoritarian rule and thats all they know. You know what they say "Violence begets Violence". I think the Iraq people need another tyrant.
Now we have this mess on our hands. We are fighting an impossible war. Why are we lossing, you may ask is? Because we value life and that is one of the reasons we went their in the first place for the future of our generations to make it safe, cheaper oil, and to liberate the iraq people while these insurgents do not value human life at all and go on this suicide attacks.

Your question is utterly ridiculous!!

The students at VT were murdered by a deranged gunman.

The 3300 soldiers who have given their lives in the fight to defeat terrorists and help a nation liberated from a murderous dictator and develop a freely elected government have demonstrated the highest form of valor. The enablers who rant "Surrender" or "We can't win" have never done one thing for another human being in their lives for the most part. They hide in their ivory towers with their superiority complexes and try to destroy every small victory we have achieved in Iraq because deep down they lack the intestinal fortitude to do anything positive. They give impetus and hope to the very people who are carrying out these muderous attacks on the Iraqi people.
Those who side with cowards like Harry Reid have the backbone of a jellyfish.

Both are bad. But war is never pretty.

If you don't believe that terorist want to take over the world, then anser this...

Why is there islamic exretemists waging war in over 60 countries now?

It was about 15 when we started our war against them. it was up to about 30 when we went into Iraq. maybe Bush was just paranoid about WMDs. But ask a soldier of the first gulf war and ask them if they think sadham had WMDs. they have medical problems that can only be from the scud attacks on them. The bombs didnt hit often most were intercepted or bad aim. But the fallout of the cheimcals did reach our troops. The proof is all there.

Also I have many friends in Iraq that are happy Sadham is gone and they like the USA.

The people you hear talking are islamic extreemists. You can find there lies on you tube or anywhere on the interent very easy. Most the times they try and mask their real IDs. One recent terrorist was had a fake yahoo ID and it was a NY policemans name with the actual picture. He was emailing and messaging US military personal and their families on yahoo and telling them veyr hatefull sttuff. Also he liked to say "autie hillary wants you home"

So if you want to belive the deceptions of the enemies of this country and disbeleive in the USA government you may be helping the terrorists more than you know.

The only person(s) who can adequately answer this
question would be a parent who lost two children,
one at Virginia Tech and the other in Iraq.

You ask which is worse and I understand the purpose of
your question. But my question to you is, how can you compare murder at home with war abroad? Death in
war is anticipated, death in a classroom cannot be.

The most common ground in both (Iraq and Va Tech) is that
there is utterly senseless loss of life attached to each
situation.

Again, why do people even ask these questions? What does one have to do with the other, You have a life because of what I did and others like me in the past and others in the future will do, to support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies foreign and domestic. And yes the massacre at Virginia tech was awful, but it has nothing to do with Iraq, unless your someone like yourself trying to make a comparison

There is no comparison. Virginia Tech isn't a War Zone/Battle Field! The Virgina Tech students had NO chance in hell to defend themselves! They had no clue what was coming.
I'm a Military wife and I know that my husband has the chance to defend himself if fighting over in Iraq, but he wouldn't have had the chance to defend himself if he was sitting in that room last week when that lunatic came in shooting a bunch of unarmed individuals. Am I saying most colleges are are more dangerous then Iraq? Of course not! I'm just saying in this particular case it's like comparing apples to oranges.

The deaths is Iraq will continue, as long as our military occupies theri country. The deaths at Virginia Tech, could have been reduced or prevented if citizens were allowed to defend themselves, by returning fire to the Korean killer. In every state that has concealed carry laws, the crime rate and killings have decreased. In cities with the toughest gun laws, New York and Washington,D.C., the crime rate and killings have increased.

The Massacre of the 33 youngsters in Virginia Tech.

Those innocent children died for no reason what-so-ever, while the soldiers in Iraq know that they have a major chance of dieing. Yes, it's very sad that many soldiers are putting their lives at risk, but they know that it might happen to them. Right?

I consider the deaths of 3000 innocent Americans on 9-11 to be worst.

Why don't you go to Iran, Iraq and tell that crap to the nearest muslim terrorist???

If you don't know the difference...feel sorry for you...Massacre is as it states. A Massacre...Soldiers dieing in Iraq is called War. What's worst? Do you place a different rule of law on each of them? A death is bad in any situation. One of these unnecessary by a mad man and one to give you the right to spew your hate!
