I've been getting sharp shooting pains to my shoulder latley especially when I squat. I can do the wieght (145 lbs) easily for my legs, but i can not stand the wieght on my shoulder due to the amount of pain. I was wondering is it something around the house that can cure, or do u think i need to get a doctor's opinion and expensive tests to get done?

You're probably putting too much stress on your shoulder muscles. Stop the exercises for a few days to see if this helps. You can apply a heating pad or hot towels to the shoulders for twenty minutes at a time and then apply an analgesic balm.

You should have a checkup As soon as possible with your medical doctor to make sure that you have not done something serious to your shoulder.

There is a possibility of a torn ligament on the shoulder due to excessive stress on it. Stop your exercises immediately and rest your shoulders for a few days. Apply ice fomentation. Alternatively, infra-red therapy may help.
Try Moxibustion with a good acupressure or acupuncture therapist.
Home remedy:
Take equal quantity of
1. Peppermint oil
2. Thymol
3. Pure medicinal Camphor

Mix them in a blender. It will turn into a thick oily liquid. To this add 4 parts of eucalyptus oil.

Keep this handy at home. It is a great stuff to treat pains symptomatically. It is also useful for minor pains, colds, headaches or any other part of your body.
Do not apply too much of this oil. It burns a lot. But it helps.

It could be any number of things. For one, rest it for a couple of weeks. If you don't want to do that, at least ice it after you lift. You could have tendonitis or a neck issue that is aggravated by the lifting. A rheumatologist would be a great help and can stop the pain. Try the ice and an anti-inflammatory med like Motrin for a couple of weeks with food as directed and with rest and then very gradually increase your activity with it and see if it recurrs. Ice and heat are wonderful things. Use them 15 minutes at a time and any time after exercise. Feel around and see if you have specific tender areas in shoulder or neck region. Good luck.

Sounds like a pinched nerve to me since when you squat the stinging starts. When you have a pinched nerve the area affected will have inflammation so it would cause it to be really sore. In the meantime use ice on your shoulder to bring down the swelling. i would see a doctor or go have yourself asjusted by a chiropractor!
