ok here is the best answer for you:
why dont you use the Old ancient method of knowing the time why do you use Watches ? b'coz its new and easy to know , understanging better..thats why, we are switching to cell phones to know the time instead of using watches... we are going forward and we dont want to stand still on the place for a long time..we have invented lots of new things and are leaving the old 1...Handwatches were good but now when we have cell ph we can use it..for time, radio, camera, and as a cell ph.. so....we will go more forward and advance with the technology day by day...
i'm the best...
onw more thing is that those companies are also contributing with cell phone companies so they are also switching to new things and techs...

I still use a wrist watch. But I don't have a cell phone. I think I would use a wrist watch even if I had a cell phone because all I have to do is look at my wrist to see the time. I don't have to worry about grabbing a cell and putting it back.

However, I understand that wrist watches are now being worn as a fashion accessory and not to tell time. They are becoming a bracelet rather than a functioning time piece. Like a lot of things, say the very latest cell phone, a wrist watch can also be a status symbol. Some people wear a Rolex because they can afford it, like driving a Rolls Royce.

As far as price goes, the cost of something depends a lot on the market. If the market is small, the cost of making each watch increases to support the manufacturing infrastructure. A lot of things are cheap today simply because there are so many people buying them.

Wrist Watches are pretty much a thing of the past nowaday because of cell phones. Almost everyone has a cell phone and every cell phone has a clock on it.

i still wear a wrist watch when i get "dressed up" and alot of people who want to look professional still do. Watches are really more for style and to look impressive but in the younger generations there is no need for wrist watches because everyone is always carrying their cell phone, which is awesome for traveling b/c it automatically switchs to the time zone you are in.

some good brands rolex, swiss army, and the more affordable fossil

I always have a watch on....just because my cell phone has the time displayed on it....sometimes it is buried in my pocketbook.

Big companies will continue to make watches because that's their business and people still do spend on expensive watches..

I prefer cheap watches for everyday use as they usually get dunked when I'm cleaning up....but my good watch is a Movado.

I don't know about other countries, but in India, where I live, we still use wrist watches and the range varies from very cheap to very expensive, the later being status statements.

I think it's because almost everyone has a cell phone now so when you need the time you can just look at your phone.
