Jesus was a real person, He was a great Rabbi and was a very kind and generous person. He was never violent or selfish. He was a radical thinker and non-conformist. People have trouble with those who think differently than the masses, they are afraid to stand out and be looked at as strange. Jesus was not lacking in confidence and didn't do anything bad to anyone. Your sources are not accurate and the stories have been distorted over the years. If you want a better understanding of Jesus, go research Judaism and find out what the Hebrew Laws are that are the same as how Jesus lived his life. You're way too mixed up with all of the stories you have heard, mixing paganism and the Resurrection and all that. You have to start at the beginning, there are no Cliff Notes on Jesus, okay. If you really want to know the answers to your questions, you're going to have to research them, no one is going to hand them to you, that is impossible.

My friend, I really feel for you, for as a non believer you have no hope in eternal life. The answer lies in the very question you have asked, and that is "BELIEVE". John 3:16, says that God loved the world so much, that he gave his only son that whosoever "BELIEVES" shall not perish, but have everlasting life. You state that the Bible is a myth, yet the accounts of,and the time of Jesus are witnessed by the deciples, as well as others. I for one, believe in the literal being of Jesus Christ, his birth, death, burial and ressurection as stated in the scriptures. I could tell you that yesterday where I was working, there were 4 passing of trains. Unless you were there, or you had access to this written information personally, you would have to believe what I said. The same applies here. In the words of a great old preacher Dr Vance Havner concerning the Bible " I am not a scholar, nor the son of a scolar, and I don't understand all there is to know about the Bible..I don't understand all there is about electricity, but I am not going to set around in the dark untill I do".My friend, it is everyones choice to believe or not to believe. Everything is not an absolute, but you can rest assured in one absolute, you will die one day. If you want to gamble on eternity, then don't believe, if you don't want to gamble, then do as the scriptures instruct "Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shalt be saved......in another passage..for with the heart man believeth, and with the mouth confession is made"...Believe or not to believe.its your choice..

Were you there? Aren't your statements just a different form of belief? If you don't believe in this "myth", that's your choice. But unless you have conclusive proof that Jesus was "just a carpenter", all you really have is an opinion. Opinions can differ among civilized people.
Why do you think that the people surrounding this man believed in him? Why did they die for those beliefs and continue living their lives by his standards and meeting to celebrate his life and words when it was illegal to do so? Why did they leave their homes and go to other parts of the world to tell other people about his life and works and about his promise to save them from death? There's a lot about Christianity that became twisted but the original adherents to Jesus didn't try to force others to believe in him; they offered what they believed was a valuable gift - a direct line to God's love. If you read the history of Christianity in the early years, you'll find some startlingly heroic people who held the very beliefs you are saying are false.

Jesus did not have a human father, shows what you know. He was born of a virgin birth, supernaturally implanted in Mary's womb. That's why God is His father, not Joseph. Joseph was his earthly father and helped Mary raise Him. He did many healing miracles during His short time on earth and even cast out demons if you would read your bible. Lazarus was brought back from the dead by Him also. He was resurrected from the dead to fulfill a prophesy . He died for our sins, but had to be arisen from the dead in order to sit at the right hand of His father God so that we could all go to Heaven if we so choosed. Jesus had to be resurrected because it He wasn't, their wouldn't be much meaning to Him living in our hearts, which He does in mine. If you do not have this joy in your heart , that is your choice but don't try to slam what others believe in and talk talk about anything you have not fully studied. Oh, by the way, He was a carpenter and a lived a very simple life because He wanted to go through human heart ache just like we do everyday. He also descended into Hell to complete His mission of saving us before His resurrection and ascension into Heaven.

when your talking about jesus you should probly check your scientific bull---- at the door
science has no merit over a being that is known to defy it time and time again so that argument about something being scientifically impossible isnt very convincing to me
secondly if jesus wanted to avoid that crucifiction he could have easily seeing as how there isnt a human being on earth that can stop him
instead he didnt he LET it happen in order to save us
period point blank end of story
bye

The Jesus story was copied from others for sure...ever read about Mithras (although I've seen debate re: which myth came first)?
But to answer your question, it puzzles me as well. They've made the character of Jesus into nothing more than a whipping boy. That is a disgusting idea to me. I don't want or need someone else to get punished for any "bad" things I do. My life, my screw ups, my responsibility. The whole idea xians have that someone else was tortured and died to make up for their "bad" deeds, is revolting...and even moreso that they seem to think it's a kewl idea.
No wonder the concept of personal responsibility is foreign to so many.

Thats one of the reason science and the followers of Christ can't get together because of that, Jesus was given unto at the crucification because man was to caught up in the world to seek Gods love for them so God sent is Son to be crucified to show his love to mankind. Science can't prove anything unless God allows it to happen.

Because HE died and now is at the right of His father...we choose to believe or not...we choose LIGHT or dark...we choose!
Take good care!
God is LOVE, He loves us all and He takes good care of everyone, he gives us chance after chance...what are we choosing?
HE IS ALIVE and is waiting for you and for me to choose His Love!
Let's choose Jesus Christ as a Savior!

The problem with your premise is what happened after Jesus rose from the dead.
Every one of His apostles (except for one) died torturous, gruesome deaths. They died with "He is risen" on their lips. Ther were given opportunities to recant their testimony, and willingly chose death than recant.
Now, if they had merely been told these things, it would be understandable that they trusted whoever told them. But these were eyewitnesses. Had their story been a lie, they would not have gone to their deaths for something they knew to be a lie. If eternal life was not possible, they would have chosen to recant, in order to live longer.
But they knew that they had a better reward waiting for them. They knew in Whom they'd believed, and had seen Him after He rose from the dead, and watched Him ascend into Heaven.
With that kind of testimony, we too, can trust that what they said was true.
