I need help! About a couple of days ago my ear started to slighty. I thought it was just an earache but it did not go away! I told my mom about it and she told me to take some ear drops. I took them twice yesterday but then it hurt worse! So my mom gave me some pain relievers and it did not help at all! I could not lay on that side last night because it hurts when anything touches it (even on the outside). I finally went to sleep, but when I woke up this morning it still hurts! I can not hear out of that ear. I tried Q-tips to see if something was blocking it. Nothing was but it hurts so much!! Please....what do I do?

P.S. mom said the doctor would just give me more ear drops and they are not working for me.

Treatment
The goal of treating swimmer's ear is to clear up the infection. Treatment may include:

Cleaning. Clearing your outer ear and ear canal of any drainage and flaky skin allows topical medications to work more effectively. Your doctor may perform this procedure with a suction device or a cotton-tipped probe. To prevent further irritation or injury, don't clean inside your own ear unless your doctor instructs you to do so.
Topical medications. Your doctor may prescribe eardrops containing antibiotics to fight infection and corticosteroids to reduce itching and inflammation. Use eardrops liberally (four to five drops at a time) to penetrate the end of your ear canal. If your ear canal is swollen, your doctor may insert a special wick into your ear to allow the drops to reach the end of your ear canal.
Oral medications. In some cases, doctors suggest using oral medications in addition to topical treatments. Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), such as aspirin or ibuprofen (Advil, Motrin, others), may help ease severe ear pain. Ask your doctor which over-the-counter pain medication is best for you. Always take NSAIDS with food.
Lifestyle modifications. Don't swim, fly or scuba dive during treatment for swimmer's ear. For the most effective treatment results, water should be kept out of the ear. Talk to your doctor about your bathing habits.

GO TO THE DOCTOR!

Do you have pearced ears? If you do it might be an infection.
even if its not an infection from pearced ears heres what you should do. Even though it hurts really bad you need to try and wash it out every morning and night and maybe even in the afternoon. You might also want to see a hearing doctor. They might know more about whats wrong with your ear than your regular doctor does.

Mom needs to go ahead and get you to the doctor. You've got an ear infection and may need antibiotics to clear it up. Please avoid using q-tips in that manner in the future, as you can do more damage than you might imagine.

p.s. Salena, ask your mother to take you to an urgent care clinic, particularly if you are running a fever. Pain from an ear infection can become VERY severe, and you may be risking a ruptured eardrum. Please encourage your mother to take you on to urgent care straight away. It's important.

In the meantime, alternate taking recommended doses (for your age/weight) of tylenol and advil. Try a low setting on a heating pad for your ear. Sometimes that helps to temporarily relieve the pain.

This could be an infection. You do need to see a medical doctor because they are probably going to give you tablets to fight the infection as well as professionally investigate and clean out the ear. Ask your mother to take you to the emergency room or a clinic as soon as possible. This is getting worse and needs immediate attention.

You are going to think this is so gross but I swear it works. Your urine contains high levels or uric acid which will kill the infection in your ear. And urine is sterile so it would in no way harm you So if you could urinate in a cup and use a dropper to put in a few drops I think you would be amazed.
