Where were you when this was starting? Maybe your lack of attention is what provided the window of opportunity for "brainwashing". I am not religious, but I can see why it appeals to some people who are looking for more structure in their lives. I think you would have seen the signs of this beginning to happen early in the process if you had been plugged in to your family life. Maybe your wife was lonely.

Don't give up. It's time the authorities started to investigate these religious Christian sects. All they do is break up families. I would report this , say to the Citizens Advice and see what they say. I am a Christian but do not like most of these 'born Again Christians, they are not righteous in the eyes of the Lord.
TAMI should be ashamed of herself.
Marriage if to be together as a family if possible and not apart. Good luck.

I've been married twice before, so I don't care if I don't marry again, but I won't say that I "won't" marry again...it's not a priority at all, but I would love to have someone to share my Life with... I've been single for a long time now (the better part of the past 11 yrs) so I'm comfortable with it just being me, if that's how the rest of my life goes...I have friends and family and interests, so it's never boring (but sometimes it gets lonely)...

I'm sorry man, I feel for you.
That level of brainwashing is extremely hard to overcome. It's the same mindset that leads people to strap on bombs and walk into crowded buildings.
All I can say is, keep reaching out to your children. If they're young, they may still be open to you. Plus, you may use the legal system. If your wife is keeping them away from you, and has no legal right to do so, the authorities may be able to step in, since it's a form of kidnapping.

call a crisis center or mental health professional... ask them if there is anyone in your area that can help you with this problem... I would probably even go to talk to a pastor of a church and the cops too..I'd be reaching out to anyone that would listen if I was you.. call the newspaper and tell your story.. maybe someone reading it could help you and break up this so called church
there used to be teams of people that undid brainwashing when things like this happened...
Good luck buddy... I hope this helped

This has nothing to do with God and everything to do with control. Control= Money. Money=Power. In your situation logic is nonexistent. Your wife most likely has a born again lover. Divorce her and get custody of your children. In other words, save them. Use your imagination.

There are genuine Christian groups who help to rescue people from such sects.
You do not say what the group is so it is difficult to generalise.
A local minister may be able to offer sympathetic help.
Unless they are of adult age you have a right to see your children.
Whatever else you do, keep the door open your way
You are in my prayers

I was a born again and I feel for you. My husband also went to church with the kids and I but wasn't anywhere near as delusional & overboard as I was. He sat back and watched for 10 years until I finally came to my senses. I don't know what to tell you except that I really hope everything works out for you. Please keep in constant contact with your kids ... they need you.

This question leaves alot of unanswered questions. i have to wonder what else was going on. Sorry if I am a bit inquisitive. And if true and you speak to the authorities. leave out the subliminal messages part or they may want you to see a shrink.
