I just saw an answer to another question that made me wonder. The quote was:
"...believer and unbeliever alike will someday stand before Christ to be judged...
the believer['s]... judgment will not be to determine if we are cast into the lake of fire, because that was settled once we believed the gospel and became “children of God.”...while our salvation is secure in Christ we will “still give an account of ourselves to God” (Romans 14:12), and should strive to do all things for the glory of God (1 Corinthians 10:31)."
So what does that actually mean? I mean if salvation is already assured, what's the account for? What's the outcome if you can't give a good account of/for yourself?
I'm really curious, not trying to pick holes in anything, no ulterior motive (really!) Enough disclaimers already?

So you get heaven anyway, but how fluffy the pillows are and if you get a personal grape-peeler depends on how many kittens you saved? Something like that?

There are two separate judgments. Believers are judged at the Judgment Seat of Christ (Romans 14:10-12). This judgment does not determine salvation, but rather is when believers must give an account of their lives to Christ. Believers are rewarded based on how faithfully they served Christ (1 Corinthians 9:4-27; 2 Timothy 2:5). The things we will likely be judged on is how well we obeyed the Great Commission (Matthew 28:18-20), how victorious we were over sin (Romans 6:1-4), how well we controlled our tongue (James 3:1-9), etc. We will have to give an account for our actions, Romans 14:12 declares, “So then, each of us will give an account of himself to God.” Unbelievers are judged at the Great White Throne Judgment (Revelation 20:11-15). This judgment does not determine salvation either. Everyone at the Great White Throne is an unbeliever and is therefore already doomed to the lake of fire.

That would be the Bema ("Bee-Ma") Seat judgment.
Many Christians believe that the Scriptures reveal three different judgments to come. The first is the judgment of the “sheep and the goats” or a “judgment of the nations” and is seen in Matthew 25:31-36. They believe it takes place after the tribulation period but prior to the millennium and that it is to determine who will get to enter into the millennium kingdom. The second is a judgment of believers’ works, often referred to as the “judgment (bema) seat of Christ” (2 Corinthians 5:10); at which time Christians will receive degrees of reward for their works or service to God. The third is the “Great White Throne” judgment at the end of the millennium (Revelation 20:11-15); which is the judgment of unbelievers in which they are judged according to their works and sentenced to everlasting punishment in the lake of fire.

Good question, Judgment and account, are the same, if you have your sin's covered by the blood then they are in the sea of forgetfulness. But Paying the Account for your Sin, is Judgment, God says, "every idle word will be given an account". That means, be careful what comes out of your mouth, you could be judged for it. In which give an account.
Your mind is the tool God will use to Judge you, it never forgets, it has stored up information about you since you were born, your mind has the right dates, accounts, and events stored in it. So if the Blood is not covered them things in your brain, then the account will come, then Judgment. But God will say nothing, your mind will spill the beans on you. Just as fast as it can go, UN railing your life, God needs no hammer, so the account given will be in your own mind, your judgment will follow. Get the blood over your old life, and renew your mind in Christ, and he will be faithful to forgive you of all your sins. and cast them into a sea of forgetfulness. God will not let even you remember your sin.
Giving no account. No memory of it.

Some denominations believe once saved, always saved. This person is obviously one of those denominations. Others believe your salvation can be lost if you backslide.
As far as the account of your life goes, your reward is based upon the account.
Scary what I remember from my christian days.
Added: exactly! In other words, you'll get to be judged for all eternity in heaven because you don't have the 1200 count egyptian cotton sheets....you got the 200 count sheets. They'll be pointing and laughing at you for eternity! Sounds fun, doesn't it?

Pastor has been preaching about this.
It is an account of what we have been doing in obedience to the Word of God. How productive one was with the talents given. And it is a reward system. The ones who were productive, were given cities to rule, according to how productive they were with the talents they received.
Those redeemed by the blood of the lamb are those who are part of the first resurrection. Rewards are given for works rooted in faith, hope, love, peace, joy, patience, etc... Faith in that faith is trusting & obeying God. Hope is the assurance from God in our innerman that we are doing what is pleasing to God. Love is all types of love God created. Peace is the peace of God that surpasses human understanding. Etc.
The first resurrection started when Jesus raised from the dead & will be complete when we who are redeemed by His Shed Blood are raised up whole; spirit, soul & body before Him. This is the first resurrection & then there is the Marriage Supper of the Lamb. The second death (lake of fire) has no power over those who are part of the 1st Resurrection. Their names are written in the Lambs Book of Life.
Jesus Reigns for 1000 yrs.
The Last Resurrection, then the rest of the dead, in the sea, in the place of the dead, and in the death & hell give up the dead in them. This is where people are judged according to their works. Those whose names aren't found in the books of life are thrown into the lake of fire, the 2nd death.
So two different judgments. The first to see what one is rewarded depending on what they had built on the Rock foundation. (Sins, etc. were fried before going to heaven.) The Great White Throne judgment are for those who were not redeemed by the Blood of the Lamb. And there is a scale of good deeds & bad deeds. Many of these people were ones to follow after their conscience & land laws, yet weren't taught about Gods Saving Grace correctly & never rebeled purposely against God. So I believe their names are still written in the Books of Life. But many Christian leaders don't. Some think all these will get thrown into the Lake of Fire also, because their names aren't written in the Lambs Book of Life. But I see written in Revelation the Books of Life.

Everybody will have to stand in judgment. Read Revelations about the judgment of all people. Remember anything is possible for God. God can wash away your sins through the blood of Jesus Christ his son. God Bless

Have you ever heard of the Edict Memory? Some people who have died on the operating table and been brought back to life have spoken of it. Its an accounting of ones whole life showing ones actions. Perhaps after this happens a judgement occurs when one can confess ones faith? But Jesus says a faith without works is a dead faith, so work on what he teaches, not what the churches claim.

LK.6:45 A good man out of the good treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is evil: for of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaketh.
LK 12:33-34
33 Sell that ye have, and give alms; provide yourselves bags which wax not old, a treasure in the heavens that faileth not, where no thief approacheth, neither moth corrupteth. 34 For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.
Why do we seek to do good--In doing good we practice what Christ taught--thus we fulfill our mission. 2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

"For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad." -2nd Corinthians 5:10
This Judgement is for the believer only(one who has been saved)...
Many of our good works may be done out of impure motives, such as personal glory or mapping out own ministry without knowing God's will. These works will be burned..there will be no reward..though the believer is still
saved.
An example of this would be...Why,am I on this forum? Am I trying to validate my faith? Am I looking for meaningless points? Am I seeking the accolades of man or the glory of God? Motives are a very strong indicator in determining wheather or not we are being used of God..however even pure motives are not proof..we need to be led of God and we need to obey God.

All are called before christ in judgment...all are held accountable for their sins. The pont of salvation is the wage for that sin is paid. God does not expect people to be sinless...its not possible...thats the point of salvation
Matthew 25:23
His lord said unto him, Well done, good and faithful servant; thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord.
