I was going to get a rather large japanese back piece done in black and white and was telling a friend of mines who has a sleeve in color. He's Puerto Rican and so am i only im a bit darker more of a caramel and he said that i could get my whole back tatted white and then the tattoo i wanted and the color and it would show up brighter. Has anyone heard of this being done before.

I think tattoo artists like using white for highlighting. White fades pretty fast. There are alot of vibrant bright colors that your artist can use. Go talk to him about it and he will be able to tell you more. Black and grey looks pretty cool, and he will be able to highlight it with the white to make the black pop more. Good Luck! =]

That is just crazy talk. NO.

You are looking for black and grey work. Go seek the advice of a professional tattoo artist.
