Not only valid, but one of the most beautiful principles of nature ever discovered - a simple, elegant, flawless process that builds up complexity over deep time, without limit.
Unfortunately it's also counterintuitive, and not easy for the hard-of-thinking to grasp. It's even more difficult for those hostile to its implications, especially when they've been prejudiced in advance by people with a vested interest in the theory's downfall.

Later:
How bizarre it is that so many antis and don't-knows here honestly seem to think that evolution's 'just a theory' (yawn), and that there really is controversy and argument about it among biological scientists.
Wrong. The only real controversies among evolutionists are over tiny specific details, like which of two billion-year-old worms came first - matters of importance only to people working on the fine structure of genetics and so on. There's absolutely no argument among serious biologists about the *fact* of evolution itself - that discussion was over 150 years ago.
Even Behe and the other Creationist biologists can't argue against the bare fact that evolution works. They're just trying to find counterexamples that don't fit the theory - which is valid science, but not helped by having an agenda. And sadly for them, their counterexamples have been shown to be bogus.

I love the box you put this in. I will answer anyway.
It is possible that things have evolved. That is a good thing. I doubt we will ever understand it to the point we could form an opinion. We can not even get our time and calender correct much less accurately predict the weather. But if we find something that has some gray area in it, we will go crazy trying to prove we have some sort of clue as to the origin of the universe,or at least the world we live in. It's all about our ego and that is ok. If evolution is valid we may never know. It is however possible.
May the Lord richly bless you.

Evolution is a theory...all theories are valid until they are proved, then they become fact, or disproved, then they become, one of the many theories in a process to prove a fact. Perhaps the current theory is correct in the overall process of "natural selection" but we find out that man was the original lifeforms and the Higher lifeforms are the animals. Animals kill for food only (not out of anger or sport), they live in harmony with their environment, and probably don't think they are "superior to any other living thing". Maybe the Ape to man theory is completely correct except, the Apes are the superior lifeforms, and man are the defects that will die off due to natural selection. All theories, are valid until proved wrong. Look at how our domesticated pets live...they have housing, food, and all their needs met, and do no work to aquire it. Humans must work, build, plant, havest, etc. Who life is easier?
I don't understand why evolution questions are always in the religion & spirituality category, it belongs in science...
Science is knowledge or a system of knowledge covering general truths or the operation of general laws especially as obtained and tested through scientific method.
Faith is a firm belief in something for which there is no proof.
Anyone that tries to prove thier religious "faith" doesn't understand the concept of faith.
Scientifically PROVE anything correct or incorrect. It doesn't change the NON-PROOF requirment of "faith"
Whoever thought up the concept of religious faith has all the bases covered.

"ENJOY :)"?? I don't know how people can enjoy answering a question that says "Do not", "Do not" and "DO NOT".
Is evolution "valid"? Valid implies the use of logic and reason, not the acceptance of a belief. So you're asking a science question. Yes, evolution is a valid scientific theory.
As for religion, there need be no conflict with the theory of evolution. Evolution does not posit a first cause, and belief in God as a first cause, is all that's required by many denominations of Christianity.

Evolution is valid when accepted as what it is. It is the predominant theory as to the origins of man from simpler beings. This theory and the explanations behind it change over time to allow for new discoveries on a continual basis. Study it, know it, discuss it. Just remember it is a theory. Not worth hating people over. Whether they buy it or not.

Yes and No.
Hows that for a answer? Hehe
Actually, while i think evolution is possible, still yet i dont think that all the experts and scientists are any closer to proving it or understanding it themselves than they were 50 years ago.
The science we looked at as fact 50 years ago, we consider science fiction today. Im willing to bet if you could jump ahead 50 years from now, the science regarding evolution today will be considered foolish and out of date.
In other words, dont believe a scientist just because he has on a white lab coat and a degree framed on his wall. At the same time, dont believe a priest just because he has a Bible in his hand.
They both are only pushing an agenda and probably dont have the answers.

I do believe that Darwin's theory of evolution is valid. Darwin simply stated that things adapt to their environment. He never tried to explain how we came to "be" (or how we were created, etc.). Note, however, that it is still only a theory. We don't call it "Darwin's Law of Evolution." This raises questions as to whether or not we should be treating it as absolute truth (which many tend to do).
However, I don't believe that Darwinism is valid. Darwinism is a theory created by extremists believers in Darwin's theory who wanted to use it to explain how we came to be. Note that we don't call Darwinism a theory, or anything scientific for that matter. This raises the question as to why we are teaching it in our science classes.
On a side note,if you leave it to probability, what's the likelihood that, of all the possibilities, you are the product of millions of years of evolution. I don't believe the probability is high enough to be considered a valid possibility, yet here you are.

I am a Christian and i believe in evolution. The main reason is due to the fact like you stated it took many small steps at any of those points something could have happened (in the early days when there were only a few single cell organisms) one could have died, and the whole evolutionary cycle could have been destroyed. I believe it takes some guiding force to allow so many things to go right.

I do not think evolution is valid. It ends up in giving no meaning to our existence and purpose, and just doesn't hold when you retrace it to the very first progenitor of the evolved. And also it contravenes the basic principle of ''nothing begotten from nothing(the origin of the first existing particle, whatsoever)''
And also it just doen't hold in the light of the fact that ''to every design, there is a designer or essence preceeds existence''
Just look around, the computer I am using, the clothes I am wearing, the spoon I used to laddle my porridge with, the shoes I am wearing, the bed I slept in,the minibus I travelled in,the drug I took, and hey, the key board I am puching at,the cell phone,interlia..were designed before existing! But evolution theory
will disagree the earth and the creatures in it,including man were designed purposefully& skillfully by the Master Designer!..this far,all I can say is: count your teeth with your tongue to figure it out.
God bless,Ali.

Of course it is. However, we can't grasp the concept of atoms binding together to create materials and life.
What is life? Basically life is one material using another material so that it can transfer energy and move material. That is it. But we say life forms can think! Yes but what is a thought? It is the movement of energy and matter in the brain that is all. Your neurons are moving to provide thoughts and reasons.
It all boils down to material and the transfer of energy.
I wish there was a God it would clear things up a bit.
My argument for their being one Omnipotent God is that if he/she it exists then they most definitely have a sense of humor maybe even wicked. To keep us guessing for eternity or until we blow ourselves up what they hell we are supposed to do on this minute speck of rock in the middle of a universe that we don't know where it starts or ends of of even it's purpose.
Great question though.
