No, I can assure you that the school is not trying to scare you. They really are serious when they check for plagiarism. You better pray to the good Lord that you don't get caught because you will definitwly get a zero and be spending your summer vacation in summer school. As far as anything else goes, there is nothing you can do. You already plagiarised the paper and turned it in. All you can do now is cross your fingers and pray. And another thing, making excuses for plagiarising doesn't cut it. You should have managed your time better and asked your teacher for an extension or even turned in your paper late even if it meant getting points taken off. You could have also, summarised the paper and put it in your own words at the very least so that it would not have been so bad. In the future take the time to plan out your assignments so that you can get them all done in plenty of time. I hope you have learned a valuable lesson, plagiarising is the same as cheating, don't cheat.

I'm a teacher. I've had students plagiarize before. I use an on-line checker as well. Chances are pretty high that you will get caught. the best thing to do is simply admit it, accept the consequences, and apologize (and mean it). You will likely get a zero and the teacher will lose trust in you. It's your job to accept that, try to earn it back, but don't expect to get it back.
And of course, remember this awful feeling so you never do it again. If you get caught again, you could be expelled. Most colleges and universities will expell you after one time. Count this as a valuable lesson.

If you are a good writer, you likely won't get caught. However, if the paper you turned in is superior to your usual work, you'll be nailed. Your teacher will at least question you about it. Especially if it's for English class.
The reason why it is frowned upon is because it is essentially stealing. Stealing people's time, effort, ideas, etc. Many writers take a great deal of pride in what they write. Have some consideration for them, and don't do this again.

the guilt probably makes the situation worse. The BEST thing you could do right now is confess to make yourself feel way better....but if you don't have the guts to do that, you could wait and watch.there is a very HIGH probability that you won't even get caught because they would never go around searching for plaigarism in every single paper....they don't have the time for that.
but if you do get caught, the best excuse you could come up with is "THAT GUY PLAGIARIZED ME!!!"
jokes apart,
good luck!

The best option is to accept responsibility for doing an act you should not have. You don't go to hell perse but it goes on record and it looks bad on your character. If a future employer requests school records from you it will be shown to them if you are caught.
