Cos of my shift pattern I often find that I have my main meals when i'm just waking up, this is so I fit in with the rest of the household's eating habits, am I alone in this?

Eat and drink what you want when you feel like it. Because something is traditionally a "breakfast" or "dinner" food, doesn't mean you're restricted.

(obviously the alcohol side could be a bit tricky)

All the above is especially true if you work shifts and eat and sleep at unusual times but I think it can be said in general.

Sounds perfect to me! I had a shift where I didn't get home until 3:30 a.m. and then made dinner and washed it down with a couple beers as the sun was coming up! Then I'd sleep, get up at 2:30 p.m. and go back to work. If it fits your schedule and you're happy with it, go for it!

Why not. When I worked night shift at the pit I often had bacon egg and beans in the morning washed down with a couple of pints of home brewed beer.

Not at all! Simon Cowell said something like having a hamburger for breakfast just doesn't fit. But I disagree. Sometimes I have dinner for breakfast and breakfast for dinner!

Beer is a great brekkie, I've drunk a beer in the morning for many weeks at a time and I am one healthy individual. It's a metabolic argument, not a moral one. Drink!!!!

Sounds perfectly reasonable to me. Shift work does tend to affect all sorts of 'normal' routines.

No, not at all. I've had turkey sandwiches in the morning! And even cereal for dinner!
