I would say you are right to a certain extent. There is no question that at times Jesus partied with "sinners". Early in his ministry Jesus sat down at dinner with many tax collectors and sinners (Matt. 9:10). The edginess of these parties is hinted at by the criticisms Jesus received for being there: "The Son of Man came eating and drinking, and they say, 'Here is a glutton and a drunkard, a friend of tax collectors and sinners'" (Matt. 11:19). Jesus, overhearing the statement, said, "Those who are well have no need of a physician, but those who are sick. Go and learn what this means: 'I desire mercy, not sacrifice.' For I have come to call not the righteous but sinners" (Matt 9:12-13, NRSV). This teaching and example was one of the hardest for the Pharisees to grasp, and is difficult for many Christians to grasp today as well. It is much easier to stay within our cultural comfort zones than to venture into groups of people whose behavior violates traditional religious norms.

Jesus was not a "party boy", He is a merciful and loving Savior who unlike the religious hypocrites of his day and ours was willing to meet with sinners where they were at and to show them God's love.
Matthew 9:10 And as Jesus reclined at table in the house, behold, many tax collectors and sinners came and were reclining with Jesus and his disciples. 11 And when the Pharisees saw this, they said to his disciples, "Why does your teacher eat with tax collectors and sinners?" 12 But when he heard it, he said, "Those who are well have no need of a physician, but those who are sick. 13 Go and learn what this means, 'I desire mercy, and not sacrifice.' For I came not to call the righteous, but sinners."

Of course. He was heavily into speed dating as well, which is why he and the 12 disciples often sat on the same side of the table.
