Damn right. You know about Jeff Gordon winning last night it gonna happen sooner or later. But I agree man if was a true 500 mile race the #11 would have won, because if he hadn't of had the pit road penalty, he would have dominated the whole race.

If it was a 500 mile race he would have chance but keep in mind 500 miles at Phoenix would be a very long race and Johnson, Gordon, Stewart, and Kenseth all would have been able to keep adjusting the car to get better. So there would have been a higher possibilty of them getting better or just as good as the 11.

But the #11 has got the COT figured out and has had the class of the field the last 3 COT races, just has had the bad luck to go with it

There are so many variables that it's seldom the fastest car that wins. Stewart and Hamlin were the fastest ones at Bristol. Stewart and Kurt Busch were the fastest at Daytona. Gordon was faster at Martinsville. That's just the way it goes, you need to be good but you also need a little luck to win a race.

First of all, what do you mean by true 500 mile race? It wasn't billed as a 500 mile race. It's a 500 km race. All races aren't the same length. They know how far they have to go.

Secondly, it was Hamlin's own fault that he didn't win the race. He surely would've had he not been speeding on pit road and penalized.

I also picked Hamlin to win but he has no one to blame but himself.

When I made my pick for the winner of this weeks race I chose Denny Hamlin(with Stewart 2nd,Gordon 3rd And it ended up reversed) but denny was the class of the field and by all means had the fastest and best set upcar at the race.

Yes, anyone else could have won. It was the lucky pit stop that Jeff had that put him out front. But I love Gordon anyway, so I'm happy !

Anything is possible, but who knows.
He might of had engine trouble, he might have been involved in a wreck or he might of gotten another speeding penalty on pit road or the other teams might of adjusted and the results still would be the same.
Just because he was the fastest in that last segment doesn't mean anything.

The #11 was also the fastest on pit road. If you break the rules, there are consequences.

the fastest car doesn't always win. sometimes luck plays just as big a roll in winning as skill does.
