Have you cleaned the house? Is dinner ready? Have you fed the kids? Did you wash my clothes?

These are some of the questions that women hear, day in and day out, from husbands who assert that wives are nothing more than servants and baby machines. But a wife is neither.

Nevertheless, amidst busy schedules on the parts of both women and men, some husbands forget the real reasons behind marriage and likewise the rights of their wives. Subsequently, they deprive themselves, their mates and their children of the happiness and tranquility that is the bedrock of a successful family. This unbalanced vision towards a couple's ideal relationship is bad enough to plunge the family into a situation laden with troubles and worries.

Umm.... you do realize that most of the people that post on here are from first world countries where we really are treated almost completely as equals, right?

We don't have those problems for the most part. Not anymore. Freedom and equality and are prized almost above all else in this part of the world.

If you Muslim women are being treated this way, its time for you to put your foot down and say "enough is enough". Take charge of your own life and make the men respect you. You deserve it because you are just as important as your men are.

You must be stuck in a time warp. Most guys I know personally, myself included, do our share around the house in addition to working outside the home. You're describing a blue collar family living back in the 1950's.

The feminists of today have a lot in common with the Jesse Jacksons and Al Sharptons. They have to keep past problems artificially alive so their "jobs" are safe

Friend, I am a USA citizen, we don't treat our women like islam does, You ask have I done things to help my wife out, yes, Many times I wash the dishes, Many times I have fix supper,even though I am not a good cook, Many times I have vaccum the floor, You may ask why, Because I love my wife, & her job is never over. I was married for 21 yrs. The first time, Yes My first wife did work part time, She became sick & spent 304 days in ICU before she died. I am now remarried to a very wonderful Christian women, for 16 yrs. Our health is not what it use to be. & many times my wife is suffering, She don't ask me to do it, I volunteer to do it. I am retired now, & I have more time at home, I have worked all of my life many times putting in 16 hours shifts to provide for my family, plus also doing the outside work at home., I feel as a Husband, That my wife is a precious women. I don't regret one bit in helping out, I do not treat my wife as a baby machine, In fact she is past her baby making age, Yes we have children from our other marriages, she too, lost her first husband as I have lost my 1st wife. As a Husband, I think a True husband will respect his wife, she is a gift from God. I will never make my wife a slave. she too, needs rest. Now Husbands you may not like my answer, But I think some of you dead beat husbands need to jump in there & help your wife out. You will if you are a true husband. er... actually.... those are questions my wife asks me more than I ask her.

We (she and I ) are equals. We each play our part (bicker a bit about who's going to do the stuff we don't want to *chuckle*) and get on with it. Balance. You said it!
