I know angina is caused by a lack of oxygen getting to the heart muscle. what i want to know is how it can be the coronary artery causing this given that i have always learnt that arteries carry blood away from the heart so this should mean that the coronary artery should carry the de-oygenated blood used by the heart muscle to the lungs to be oxygentated then shouldn't the oxygentaed blood be broughht back to a the heart muscle by the coronary vein? (p.s i know how blood circulates through the heart via lungs then to body...i am asking specifically about cornanary circulation that supplies blood to the heart muscle)

Arteries do take blood away from the heart and veins return blood to the heart. The coronary arteries supply the heart with oxygenated blood coming from the heart just like arteries supply the rest of the body. The heart uses the arterial oxygenated blood and returns it to the right atrium via veins.

The coronary arteries come off the aorta, which carries oxygenated blood.

coronary circulation is related to the coronary arteries supplying the heart .. pulmonary circulation is between the heart n the lungs..the blood leaves the heart through pulmonary artery ,becomes oxygenated in the lung then returns back to the heart through pulmonary vein systemic circulation is between the heart n the rest of the body..the oxygenated blood in the heart leaves it through the aorta to supply the tissues then it returns back to the heart through superior n inferior vena cava

this doesn't completely answer everything, but here is link to detailed article on just the Coronary Circulation.

um i've never heard of coronary veins, and i can't find any information about them.

the article has these diagrams that are schematics of all the vessels...please look at those, i think they help more than the text.
