Too much concern about cruelty to animals and not enough about health. Bart&Lisa Bart&Lisa Bart&Lisa. No wonder the Chinese are poisoning our pets--how can the world stomach it when people are dying in war? I come looking for recipes. Maybe their parents wouldn't allow anything as adult as a war protest. Probably it--poor little buggers. Still, kids have knack of coming up with pretty good recipes and they're holding out on us!

There's no such thing as "too much concern about cruelty to animals" as long as cruelty to animals continues.

And you can argue that war is just another form of cruelty to animals.

If you want recipes, there are lots of them on http://www.vegweb.com.

I cant figure out what you are going on about. You went from animals to health, to bart and lisa, to recipes, to someones parents, to chinese poisoning our pets, to war protest, to kids coming up with recipes. I am confused. My 12 year old veggie daughter is an accomplished cook and often comes up with great veggie recipes. Would I let her participate in a war protest? You bet. Her uncle was severely injured by a bomb in Iraq, and is currently in the hospital, and will be for months. If she wants to protest this idiotic war, I will stand right behind her. The Chinese didnt poison OUR pets, because we make them food homemade. The whole bart and lisa thing I am just lost on.

Okay, your post is totally incoherent.

That being said, the pity and concern people express for war victims is no less sentimental than is concern for animal welfare - and in most cases the animals are treated much, much worse than are the humans. You can't claim that a certain sentimentalism is juvenile just because you don't see its object as warranting care - many of us see animals as perfectly worthy of as much concern as any human (and at least the animals don't expect it).
