A hotel reception can be very pretty BUT extremely expensive. Where I live in Indiana a hotel will charge $45.00 a person (not inc. all the over fees and expenses). My suggestion to you is find a location in your town that has open catering (means anyone can cater). You can chose a company that does not cost very much. In return you will have sooooo much more extra money to decorate as lovely as you want! This is exactly what I am doing for my wedding next year.

Assuming we are talking about a wedding reception. One of my daughters had hers at a hotel and things went fine, the people that drank too much could get a room and didn't have to drive home, the wedding couple stayed in one of the rooms before starting out on their honeymoon the next morning. Everything went well for us, and I would think it would for you also. good luck

Lots of hotels do wedding receptions. If the hotel you are thinking of offer this service then go see them and ask them about it.

If you have tons of money and no time, yes!, the hotel is a good option. If you are on limited money and plenty of time I would say get creative. For example: We held a party that had a roasted pig, live calypso band, dancers and such. It was held in the backyard and the total cost was about 1500-2000 dollars. You can expect that for just your food and drink at a hotel, then your room charge, then your gratuity, then your.... well you get it right?

GET CREATIVE!!! BE ORIGINAL!!! :) Have fun right?

I had mine on the top floor of a hotel that overlooked the city it was an amazing view as well as wonderfully catered. Plus they usually have wedding planners that work there to help you out with all the details sooo worth it!

Of course! I am always surprised when people are embarrassed about having their weddings in hotels, I think hotels are great for weddings because everything can be onsite.

Go for it!

Yes it is a good place. As guests can stay over nite if they don t want to try and book a taxi late on at nite. And somtimes it is hard trying to get a taxi late at nite.As\ theycould be booked up.Or very busy at weekends.
