My daughter is 18 months old. I had so much trouble trying to name her at birth. I had the name Georgia, Amelia and Brielle picked out and was going to choose one of them when i saw her for the first time. When I saw her I just new she wasn't any of those names. Well it took me 2 weeks after she was born b4 I named her, and I went thru every name in the entire world and nothing suited her. So I asked God and straight away I got the name Emerson Rose in my head. I couldn't believe it "Emerson", it sounds like a boy’s name, not a pretty little girl’s name, but that’s what god named her and Emerson Rose she is. She get's Em, Emmy all the time. Anyway we found out what her name means, it means Strength, powerful and industrial. I suppose God wants her to be all those things. Anyway, i want to change the spelling from Emerson, too Emersen Rose what do you think?

I love it!
Emerson Rose! It sounds like a famous persons name. Good job listening to The 'MAN'! He chose well.

I don't think it sounds masculine but adding Rose to it makes it feminine.
For some odd reason when I read this the colors green and dark pink came to mind and I think those colors go very nicely together.
Emersen Rose is a wonderful name and chosen by God for her so I ask you.... can anyone else choose better?

Congrats on your itty-bitty and much happiness to you!

I think it is very unique... and there was much thought put behind it with a lot of meaning so you should definitely keep it! I like Emersen spelling better.... it does sound a little boyish but with being called Em, Emmy, or Emersen Rose (include the middle) it sounds very very pretty. Congrats on having the perfect little girl, a gift from God..... :)

That shouldn't be a problem in changing the spelling. I think that is a cute name and it does have good reasoning behind it. That's a sweet story & I'm sure your little Emersen Rose is a sweetheart.

I did the same with my daughter, I had her name all picked out and when she arrived I knew that she wasn't suited for any of it.
So to my husbands surprise i changed it without his okay.
It suits her to a tee, and she looks like a Bonnie.
I think God sends us tiny ideas to use and produce.
You did well and Emerson isn't anymore of a males name then Jackie or Toni, so hey she will carry it well no doubt.
See ya and God bless Emerson.

Voices in your head, aren't always Gods.

From a person with a bad name
( the hospital spelled it wrong ),
parents should think about how the people
in the world will perceive the name,
as they will be saying it to your Child.

Emerson, is a guys name.
No matter how you spell it.
I can imagine the role call giggles.
Poor Kid, I don't think God did that.
Most names have some good type meanings
behind them. All man made.

I like Brianna Rose.
Brielle was pretty, and different.
Sometimes Kids kinda grown
into their name.

The comments I made about role
call giggles, I used to work with children.

I love the name Emerson, l feel if you have a strong feeling about a name then go with it... and as it means strength, powerful why would you want to change it.. let her decide when she is old enough if she wants to change it then change it but for now why not leave it as it is as it is a strong name....

LOVE IT!! And I love the spelling....it's beautiful. AND like you said it leaves room for lots of cute nicknames. Take it from someone whose parents named me "Jennifer" --I would love an original name. ...and these days, names are less gender specific. the more original the better.

...its interesting about God letting you know her name. Since I was a young child, I have just KNOWN that the name "adrienne" was a special name in my life and think that it is the name of my guardian angel. i've known it for longer than i can remember!

Keep the name!! what a great story you can tell her too!

i named my son mitchell, but a few days later realised it said hell on the end of his name, so on his birth certificate it says mitchel, just one l, and people always write mitchell ,with 2 ,ls,
so just start writing it from now on how u like it, it doesnt have to b changed on the birth certificate
